I amazed that any Vey would talk over the phone about a serious illness before even seening the animal or running tests? The diagnoses is alarming, and it not even confirmed... How were you to talk to the breeder when the pup was bought from a pet store? i have A great vet for Suzi whi I awways take her to... He would not guess on what is wrong with her without doing specific tests, because he knows how devasting a sick animal is, and how stressful it is to the owners. :aimeeyork I hope Buster has a better night then he had last night, I read that he became very ill and I thought he was not going to survive:( Poor little puppy has been through so much, and you guys have too. I honestly wish that he can stabilize.... |
I kind of doubt the over-the-phone diagnosis of LS. Typically, LS pups don't grow very well and Buster is 2 pounds at 7 weeks. It sounds more like severe hypoglycemia from the posts. It seems that it's been at least 4 days since he ate well. He would naturally have more of a problem with substantial foods since his stomach is so empty so that may explain the problem with the canned food. |
Here is a link to some useful information for ur little Buster : The Liver | B-Naturals.Com Newsletter Sure do hope he will be a healthy little fellow ..i would also check some of the meds they are giving him as they are also processed by the liver and could cause negative effects... bran bread homestyle just a little one inch square may be a better treat he may eat ..u could wet it in the cottage cheese ...and also pureeed real fruit like apple ... I love his name BUSTER BROWN :) |

I really hope he does not have a shunt, but it is a real possibility and something that is worth looking into. |

I have just finished reading all of the posts. Oh my gosh. I am so sorry your little guy is so sick. You are doing such a wonderful job with him but I wonder if he should be in a hospital. He is so very lucky to have you for a family. Yorkies can pull so very hard at your heartstrings. I will keep him and your family in my prayers. Hang in there little guy! Please keep us posted!! :animal-pa |
How is Buster today? I have been so worried about him since I read your post last night that he still wasnt doing well. I am keeping him in my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully your vet will find out what is going on with him. |
How is Buster this Morning? Please get him to the vet this am and have them give him IV fluids and a blood panel. |
Checking for a morning update, too. Buster's YT family is pulling for him! :ghug: |
Just checking for an update on little Buster, we are in a different time zone over here so I tend to catch up later than everyone else!!I bet you are just so worried about him with all the if and buts of what is going on , hopefully your visi to the vets will make things clearer. We are thinking of you and hope that it's not LS :animal-pa |
Just checking in this morning. Hope the new vet helps! God Bless! |
Buster is at the vets. He is undergoing blood work and they are going to keep him today for observation and they are awaiting the results of the blood work. My husband and I are both at work today and we will be calling periodically with updates from the vet. As soon as we hear something we will post. Even though he is such a sick baby we have already started seeing his strong personality! We have been feeding him through a syringe since Sunday. First the baby food with the cottage cheese, then the can food with cottage cheese and the baby food. We have also been giving him pedialite through a syringe and giving him Nutri Cal 4 times a day with his antibiotics. Even with doing all of this the little guy is still so weak and shaky. It breaks our hearts and we hope they can tell us what is wrong with him. He has been suffering for days! |
No news yet? The mentioned they were taking him to the vet this morning right? |
