| ![]() I am glad your baby is doing a little better. I would like to suggest to you that you think about going to a different vet. A vet should be able to draw blood from a 2lb puppy. Adie didn't weigh that much and the vet put an IV in her little leg without a problem. Also the vet should have told you about the prescription dog food (A/D). And one more thing...When a puppy that small is vomiting the vet should give you a prescription to stop it as well as the antibiotics. While I am on the topic of antibiotics - they can cause diarrhea. I see you are getting some really good advice on this site and I thank God for all the many new friends you have found. Keep up the good work - Take good care of your little guy and again, keep us posted. We care! Lou PS Did you ever tell us his name? Is it Buster? |

I also agree with MyFairLacy. At two pounds, he is big for only seven weeks. He is more the size that a 12 week old would be so he should be better able to regulate his blood sugar. It's very important that blood be taken and his liver function evaluated. Yorkies are 36 times more likely to have shunt than all other breeds combined and a puppy from a puppymill is at a very high risk for genetic conditions. | |

| ![]() I rushed home from work let my gang out and ran to the computer to see how Buster did last night...Im so happy for all of you. Just keep doing this for the next 3 weeks and I bet he will be running all over your house. I also agree that you need to call another Vet to get blood work done on Buster. Good Luck to you guys. Buster is very lucky to have such great parents..Keep us updated.... |

| ![]() And he fits in very well. He is well loved in our home and we just want him to be better. He is still up and down. Not near as bad as yest but we have changed the game plan on his food. We were giving him fruit baby food every 2 hours and ped lite. We had been doing that all night and all morning. With advise from you guys we think we should just force fed him the soft food and the beneful chicken and rice. He's not gonna eat anything on his own at this point so why not. If we have to force feed one we might as well force feed what he needs. He is up then down and it makes since with him eating all sugar that he needs the protein and carbs bad so this is how we will be feeding him today and tonight. Well my wife will she took the day off to be with him and I will have him again at work tom. Worse comes to worse I will have to hire someone to help me take care of him at work while im busy. I have been the one that has said no about having a new dog but at this point he is our family and just as it was before he came into our life we take up for our own and we will do the same for this little guy no matter what!! ![]() |

| ![]() I am just catching up on how Buster is doing from yesterday... My goodness this much be so stressful on the whole family . I hope that Buster is feeling better this afternoon and his blood sugar has stabilized. i am thinking that 2lbs is big enough for the vet to get a blood sample.. They really need to do further tests on Buster to rule out any other possible health issues. Just to be on the safe side. Continue to force Buster to eat , and try not to change his foods around too much, because this will further upset his tummy. Canned pumpkin will settle his belly down, which has already been suggested. Buster is very lucky to have such dedicated human parents and a loving family ![]()
