| I accidentally cut Riley's tongue!! :-( Riley had a knot under his chin that I couldnt get out so I decide to cut it off. Well Riley I guess stuck his tongue on the scissors and I snipped his tongue. It isnt a major cut. I cant even tell where the cut is. It was bleeding alittle bit, but I gave him ice and water. He started eating and he seems fine now. Hes eating his food and everything like normal. I keep checking it, but I dont think there is an actual cut. Has this ever happened to anyone? I'm not sure what to do in this situation. Especially since hes not bleeding and hes eating normal. TIA!!! |

| I read that this happened to another YTer. She said she snipped quite a chunk off her baby's tounge doing the same thing. Yikes! Anyway, she said her baby was fine. Good luck!

| I'm positive he will be fine. I cut the tongue of my chihuahua a number of years ago. It wasn't a little snip but about 1/4 inch of the tip all the way off. It bled for hours, and I was just terrified. The er vet said nothing could be done, and our reg vet said the same thing. So Zena ate popsicles for about a week and was completely fine. Boy is it scary though!!!
