Michelle - thank you for all you have posted. I have learned so much just reading this thread. I am so glad Lacy is doing well. Hope the diet makes a difference for both Lacy & Riley |
Lacy has been eating her homecooked diet well and hasn't been sick. Her poops are much bigger now LOL. She's on a lot of supplements right now too: Fish oil & olive oil, Vitamin B complex, Lipozyme, a Probiotic, Marin, and Denosyl...so i'm hoping we'll eventually be able to eliminate some. Plus she is still taking Tyolsin for a few more weeks. We are going to start her on Vitamin B injections this week as well. She'll get an injection weekly for 6 weeks, then an injection every two weeks for 6 weeks, and then she can get them monthly after that if we continue. She'll have her blood retested in a few months after the injections are complete. |

My guys' poos were bigger (compared to raw) on the fish diet too. Whew, I gotta say - I do sure love those raw-fed-poos. :p |

I am so glad Lacy is doing well! Lady ate Innova's Evo, then NV Priarie for several years until she started showing signs of liver damage from years of phenobarbital for seizures. Her diabetes was beautifully managed on the higher protein foods. Poops were much better, too. ;) After three HGE episodes, I'm rather poop obessed. Much bigger poops with homecooked! |

Lacy is having a sick day today. She vomitted a little bile this morning. She didn't want to eat her breakfast but the small amount she did eat got thrown upva little later. I just got her to eat the rest of it so hopefully her tummy is a little better and she will eat her other meals. She just keeps shivering. It is cold today so she has warm clothes on and a blanket on her. I guess it's just going to take some time. She's been on her antibiotic for almost two weeks as well as homecooked. But she's only been on susan Davis' diet and supplements for a week so I'm sure it's just going to take some time |

She's just been sleeping. I'll probably try to feed her again in an hour |
I hope Lacy is feeling better. Sending good wishes your way. |
I know when my Emma vomits I am not supposed to feed her for a day. That is hard though. Then it is only boiled white rice and a little boiled white chicken meat. Poor baby. |
Oh, poor Lacy! I hope she feels better soon! :getwellso |
The Tylosin causing that isn't likely. What are the side effects of B12 injections? Also, didn't you just start her on a huge list of supplements? It wouldn't be surprising if that is the problem... |

She's much better tonight. Ate well and played hard and doesn't act cold anymore. So this is good because usually her sick days lasted the whole day so maybe this is some improvement |
Praying for Lacy...she's had a lot of changes recently, maybe her body is still trying to adjust. Is it necessary to start all the supplements and diet change at the same time? I'm wondering if you could just add one thing at a time for awhile, just to help her adjust, then add something else...that way you may be able to pin point what may be making her vomit. I worked as a medical assistant in a doctors office for many years...when a patient needed multiple medications, he would slowly add one at a time...to allow adjustment and then he would also be ale to discontinue or change something that might cause a reaction. Just a thought...hope she does well. |
Wondering how Lacy is doing. :) |

I'm taking lacy back to A&m Wednesday morning to run more bloodwork. She just hasn't been herself the past 5 days. She was doing really well for a couple weeks. Thursday evening she wouldn't eat and threw up white foamy liquid about 6 times. She was shivering and her temperature was a little low. Before bedtime I finally got her to eat some and she seamed to perk up some. Friday she acted picky but did eat. She got her 2nd vit b injection that night. Saturday morning she didn't want to eat but I handfed her some. She ate about 1/6 of her daily amount. We then went to a friends for the day and she wasn't as active as she usually Is there. She refused to eat dinner. Sunday she ate most of her food but was acting picky. We went on a walk and she had kindof runny poop. Would only eat some dinner but finished the rest before bedtime. Today she refused to eat anything and has been sleeping and laying around. She finally ate about 1/6 of her daily amount about an hour ago. I just don't understand why she isn't getting better. I'm not sure if she's lost weight but she has lost an inch around her chest and her waist. She feels skinnier. We are going to run a chem panel and gi panel again and also do a baseline cortisol test to check for Addison's disease because a lot of her symptoms match. |
Oh, dear. I am so sorry Lacy is still not feeling well. |
I hope Lacy starts to feel better very soon. |
Oh my I did not know Lacy was feeling bad..Sending prayers your way girl.....Lissette |
