| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | You're right, and if that's true, I would definitely call the vet. He can also tell you the exact dosage of benadryl, and how often you should administer it. Allergies can get worse with each bite.

Some people find the conversion from mg to tsp. confusing.

| I gave her 1/4 teas. of benadryl and it helped some. The groomer said it was a rash. It moves to different spots. I looked it up on the internet, said to use Neosporin or Hydrocortisone but I am afraid too because she could lick it.

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Joey's 5 ½ pounds and I was told about ½ tsp every 12 hours of the children's liquid benadryl. Hope she's better soon.

| Poor Tricksie! I hope and pray she's better and that you can figure out what caused that. That must hurt...poor baby.

| She is almost over it. I did treat her with benedryl and hydrocortisone. Gave her a green bean with a drip of olive oil. Found a flea yesterday in one of the sores, can't believe it. That has to be what was wrong. I combed her hair, tiny sections at the time this morning. There are no fleas, no rash and the sores are almost gone. She is not scratching as much but I will give her more benedryl tonight. She had me worried sick. Thanks for all of your thoughts.

| Are you treating for fleas?? If she is allergic to them, you may want to treat her. I don't know if you would want to use a spray if she is covered with a rash....... you still may want to call the vet and ask. (we used to use an oatmeal spray on our mini schnauzer and it worked wonderfully. It really soothed the rash and help with itching. We purchased it at our vet's office.)
