| Reggie got neutered today Reggie is home from being neutered this morning. He is subdued for sure. He also sorta whimpers and breathes hard at times like he hurts. They gave me some pain meds to give him with his supper meal. He ate and has kept it down fine and I gave him the pain meds about 20 mins ago so I am hoping they will kick in soon. The worst part is he has had some accidents due to loose stools. He tends to do that when he is stressed because it happened the first time he got shots too. He walks around looking a bit confused too. Now he is lying on his pillow looking sleepy and droopy. I hope he is much better tomorrow. He has dissolveable stitches. They told me to watch him about licking them and if he got obsessed with them to put a collar on him. I hope he doesn't do that. |

| I would highly recommend making sure your baby doesn't lick the stitches. Mine did maybe two or three times and when I took him to the vet he could tell I ended up having to put Neosporin after he got his stitches taken out. He's about 6 pounds so I bought a baby onsie (size 0-3 months) and put it on him so he wouldn't lick himself. I just cut a little hole for his tail and off he was playing like normal. It didn't bother him but just an idea for your little one good luck! I'm sure he'll be fine! |

| A lot of people use diapers when they're healing. You may want to give it a try.

| He's running around this morning like nothing has happened to him. He does want to lick the wound which the vet told me not to let him do so I am trying to keep an eye on him for that. Quote:
He hasn't had any diarrhea this morning. I was up with him at 3 am because Suzie, our Rat Terrier went to having a digging fit in her kennel crate last night and woke him up. She sleeps in the living room in a crate at night when it is cold and I had Reggie in his crate in the kitchen because it is bigger and roomier than the one in Marissa's room. I set up our old baby nursery monitor near him so I could hear him if he got sick. Well I heard all this noise at 3 am and came running to see what it was and it was Suzie. The monitor had picked up the sound even though she was in the other room. So I let her out and she went running out the back door like she had to do something important. Then Reggie started whining so I went to the kitchen and got him out. He was so happy to see me and all wiggles and tail wagging. He wanted a belly rub and then drank a bunch of water. So I laid down on the couch in the bonus room which is right off the kitchen and he laid with me for about 30 mins. Once I saw he was settled and doing okay I put him back in his crate and he slept til 7 am. | |

| The vet called to check on him today and she said no licking for 7 days too. She said it isn't infection they worry about but that they will lick the incision so much it pops back open and then has to be resewn. Here is my little humiliated guy in his pink onesie! http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...ie/Onesie1.jpg |
