Do you have a 24 hour Animal Emergency Hospital? Call your regular Vet and listen to their recording, if they have one it should be included in the recording with a phone number! Even if you have to drive a distance to take Darcy...GO! Good luck & please post an update...hugs! |
there is no Er hospital ,i tried to cal our vet but her sell is off and there is no land line |
Need to keep him in shape till 8,he doesn't want to drink or eat anything . i'm so scared |
I'm very worried for your baby - this could be life or death here. Call a vet who is not in your area and see if you can get some advice. This is an EMERGENCY. This could be pancreatitis or HGE, which they can die from. It could also be from ingesting something poisonous. Did you feed ANY fatty human food? Did you feed anything new? How old is this puppy? Weight? He is probably dehydrated and has low blood sugar at this point. Do you have karo syrup or honey or Nutrical? Put some of that on your finger and give immediately to keep blood sugar up. If you don't have any of that, then take some white sugar and put it in his mouth. Check the gums - are they pink or white? If they are white, he is dehydrated an in trouble - you have to get water in him. Seriously, he needs a vet NOW. I am so sorry you're going through this. |
He is 5 and 1/2 months old and is 2,400 kg (5-6 LBR) We did a blood work yesterday and he has somthing with his bile(the thing next to the liver) and high blood sugar i'll give him some honey now and check his gums Thanks a lot I'll post an update |
You did a bile acid test - is that it? And it was too high? If so, he should have immediately been put on a specialized diet. Was he? Did you feed any human food today? Any new food? |
since he was on meds for traheobronchitis he was on chiken and rise for a week, and lil of his dry food Orijen and James wellbeloved Three days ago he started vomiting only at night and our vet sudgested only chiken for few days ,and we did this bloodwork.I'll take the results in the morning and i will post them here. He ate just chiken all day yesterday.Last meal was at 11pm His gums are still pink And i just force some honey in his mouth |
Very glad gums are pink. Was it the BILE ACID test that was high? If YES, I would just feed rice until you can see the vet - don't feed protein or fat. Could he have gotten into anything poisonous? Is he alert and able to focus okay or is he listless? |
The test was just bloodwork, She said that (I don't know the name in English for this little thing that stays next to the liver and is responsible for one of the enzimes in the stomach) the parameter for this thing is a bit high |
The Pancreas? And it was only a little high? |
I"m with him all day (we have some anxiety atacs problems) I would have seen him if he got into something bad. He is focused and have some strengh to fight a little with my honey finger |
You might want to ask the vet about Hemiagic Gastritis. I am not trying to scare you, but my sister in law's healthy, 1 and 1/2 year old yorkie came down with this virus and died within 2 days. She toook it to the vet and they treated it for diarrhea and it died within 2 days. It is very rare, but it happens in dogs 2-4 years old. Please have your vet check for that. If they catch it, they can treat it. I will pray for your baby! |
Okay. Was the enzyme amylase - was that it? Is there a vet in another city/region you can call? |
Yes a little high and a little high blood sugar. I ofered him som rise but he doesn't want to eat, even the honey |
I really do think you should call a vet in another city - I really think you need to talk to a vet right away. |
Amilaze it is. Unfortunately there are only small clinics and they haven't got receptionist. The land lines are answerless, and all of the cell numbers I have are swiched off At this hour .now is 5.20am |
Okay - that is amylase then and involves the organ called the Pancreas. You have about 3 hours until the vet, so see if you can give drops of water here and there over the next few hours. Keep him quiet, no playing. Don't feed any food at this point, just let his stomach settle. I have to get offline now - but please let us know what happens with Darcy. I'll be thinking of you and Darcy. Good luck. He will be okay. |
Can you try and use an eye-dropper or a teaspoon to give a little water? I'd also keep applying glucose or honey to your finger and swab his mouth with it. You need to try and keep him hydrated till the Vet's office opens. Do not call them first, just be there when they open...I'm sure you realize the urgency to get your little one help...hugs! |
I'll be online for the next couple of hours if you need support, ok? |
Thank you all And will need some support he is very dificult with the water even with honey in it. I use siringe |
I ofered him some rice ,(usually he eats it and asks for more) he just snifed at it. |

The chicken that you gave, was it lean white meat or dark fatty meat? |
I'm giving him Water and honey, he last vomited at 4 am. I feed him onli chiken breasts boiled ,No salt or spices he was with sensitive tummy sinse i gor him ,Even his dry food I always moistened ,and the last few times i mashed it with the chiken(a week ago) |
How is he acting? Is he lethargic/sleepy or feisty when you try to give him water? |
she will put him on glucose i think. I'm so tired of these vets here ,this is our third. And for the last three months i took him in like 40 times Tracheobronchitis, ringworm, iching, vomiting ,so many for such a little one. And I love him so much ,these two hours till 8 am will be hard |
He fight a little with the spoon. Before he vomited blood his stomach made a noises that I can hear from a 3 meters distanse .Now it stops. |
