| Pregnant or not? Princess is worrying me, she and Hoagie were together 85 days ago. She doesn't have milk, or look big, but has been panting and digging for about 1 week and just began fever today. From reading around, those are all signs of pregnancy, 85 days is too long. She still runs, jumps, and plays. I fed her ice last night and it slowed the panting. Any help is greatly appreciated! |

| They whelp anywhere between around 62 and 67 days. She could be having a false pregnancy |

| Hmm....Their temp usually goes DOWN when they're getting ready to whelp. Not up! If she's having a fever, I'd get her to the vet ASAP, just in case something is wrong. Good luck!

| Sounds to me, she needs to be seem by a vet. A fever is not a good thing, when she could be PG. Specially after this long past the due date. |

| Eighty-five days is way too long but a fever for no reason isn't right. I would take her to the vet with those symptoms immediately. Something could be seriously wrong. Does she have 'any' discharge and is she lethargic?

| I agree. She needs to be seen by a vet. A fever is a sign of infection. |

| update on Princess - Preg or not Well, after 24 hours of close watch, I am glad to report that Princess is doing much better. I didn't sleep at all last night, but she is definately worth it. Unfortunately, going to the vet was not an option... I am on disability and my husband lost his job in Oct. We just filed for BK and with two children plus two furchildren, Christmas looks glim. I did call my vet hoping for some help, a special rate or something, with no luck. Anyway, we bathed her today as she was constipated and she has been feeling much better. I only hope that it is not like a baby with nights bringing on the worst symptoms. She has stopped the panting and is playing and running a lot with Hoagie. Her nose is still a little warm, but she is definately feeling better, playing and didn't pant all today. She just started anting tonite, but not as bad. She loves treats, we recently added pigs ears and from reading, I found out they can cut the digestive ctr. Both love celery, carrots and believe it or not, cucumbers! They got a bit obsessed with the Denta Bones and we had to quit purchasing. Thanks for all of your comments! |

| You said she had been constipated....did she "go"? I'd stop giving her any treats for now and see how she is in the next week since you can't get her to a vet. The next time she is in heat, you may want to put doggie diapers on her. They sell them at Wal-Mart and look so darned cute on them. I do hope she is all better now.
