| Hope I am not being completely stupid - but, are you referring to a dermatologist for animals?? or one for humans, as that is all we have in our area. We are a large city for Louisiana standards, but lack totally in health care facilities - except for neonatology -then we excel in that! Vet care in our area is very hit and miss!! And I seem to have missed!! He seems sincere - And I understand red mange is very expensive to cure/treat, but this has been since November and over $1200 so far. And now it is starting up all over again??? aaagggghhhhh!! |

| Thank you so much dwerten ![]() How about Bayer advocate and ketoconazole? is that ok to use together? My 4-lb was prescribed ketoconazole tablets and ketoconazole ointment to be applied on the nose and muzzle (where the problem is). But she can definitely lick it off, is that ok?

| My little Xander also had bad skin problems. Since he was a liver shunt baby I think he will always have some problems. The things I do for him seems to have worked where the vet did not. He was diagnoised with allergies and staph. The antibotics for the staff caused yeast and steriod for the allergies caused him to have a reaction and he couldnt breath. Anyhow I started feeding him white rice, green peas, boiled chicken, and pumpkin for treats he gets baby carrots. I wash him with Malaseb shampoo from EntirelyPets.com. This is great stuff its antibaterial and antifungal. I drop a solution of white vingear and water in his ears (he had yeast) then rub monistat or any over the counter yeast cream in his ears. I look at his belly everyday if he has any bumps I but antibacterial cream or hydrocortison cream on them. If his eyes, ears, or skin seems red or if hes itching I give him Benedryl. You could also put yogart in the food and on the skin its good for yeast (my babys allergic) so be careful. There is also a web site that has natural remedise good for pets and people. Its called Earthclinic.com just use good judgement some of the treatments my be too harsh for yorkies. Hope this helps!!!!!!!! |
