| Emergency please help!!!! bentley just jumped off the couch, yelped, started limping. We thought he had broke his leg. His toe nail is twisted a bit sideways and is bleeding from the paw end. What should we do?! I don't think an vet is necessary but we are not sure what to do! If you could please help. thanks so much |

| Poor Bentley! I am so sorry! It sounds like he may have broken his toe! I would keep him off of it until you can talk to a vet. Hugs!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Ouch, that had to hurt...poor baby! The bleeding has stopped, right? You may want to make a bandage of some kind to protect it from further damage until you see the vet. I've used the cut off toe of a sock and taped it around one of my foster yorkie's back leg. It kept him from scratching his neck while it was healing from a skin condition.

| the bleeding stopped shortly after. we called an emergency vet and they said we didnt need to bring him in tonight unless the bleeding was really bad. It is still completely sideways!!! it is so sad. she said that he might just bite it off and that was okay until the new one grows back but if we want to take him in tomorrow. He is running and jumping and doing okay but you can tell it is sore because after he stands on it for a moment he lifts his paw up but otherwise seems to be fine. I think I will see how he is tomorrow and take him in just for a check to be sure. thank you all for your help and condolences. much love |

| well bentley seemed to get worse over a few hours so we took him into an emergency vet and they cut off his toe nail and the quick is still sticking out. they said no need for a bandage or meds so he is okay. I couldnt help myself from getting upset beacuse he was trying to follow me around and shaking so bad. I felt horrible for him. He is muich better now. a little sore at time i think but he is back to his normal self!!! |

| This happened to one of my foster dogs. I felt so bad. The vet said to keep the nails really short and it will prevent this. It took weeks before the quick got coverd back up. He licked it constantly until he got some nail growth.
