Ouch, that had to hurt...poor baby! The bleeding has stopped, right? You may want to make a bandage of some kind to protect it from further damage until you see the vet. I've used the cut off toe of a sock and taped it around one of my foster yorkie's back leg. It kept him from scratching his neck while it was healing from a skin condition.
