Thank God! That's a good report, even though there are problems, he evidently is improving in some areas. I am so happy he is gaining weight and sounds like he is more alert. What a sweet baby little Vinny is! I will continue to pray and wait for updates.

Poor little guy, he's getting it from all ends...isn't he?
I hope that even if he has surgery to correct the liver shunt and he's still "special" that he can live a long happy life. :hug:

I have been reading this thread the last few days... How awful they flew that sick little puppy! I am so glad he now has a loving Mommy who will do all the best she can for him. He is really blessed to have you. Please keep us all updated. You and Vinny are in my thoughts.

Kaity, I haven't been here much lately, but I want to say how sorry I am that you're going thru so much stress and heartache with Vinny. I know how it is, and I thank God that my situation wasn't as complicated as yours is. But I also want to say that God bless you for loving the little guy so much and for doing what you can for him.
I wish I had some advice as far as fund raising for you, but I don't. I do know there are so many wonderful people here at YT though and you'll get a lot of emotional support and just about anything you need here.

I have read a lot about the soft spot not closing all the way on a lot of Yorkies, so it may not be much of a problem at all....or you may just have to be really careful. I am going to PM you about some other info you might appreciate.

I wish you all the good luck in the world with Vinny; you're both lucky to have found each other! Seana and the M&M's

I was hoping to see an update on Vinny. I wonder if that darn JD :mad: has contacted her and threatened her if she posts anymore. That is purely conjecture on my part, but ya have to wonder :rolleyes:

I wonder the same thing!! He better not! I just want to know what she has learned about little Vinny's condition and what can be done for him!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr She doesn't need to be afraid of that bully!!

Yes, I remember and you may very well be right. I just can't understand why there have been no updates on Vinny. The OP says she will not part with him, which is a wonderful thing ... I just hoped that we would be able to keep up with his progress. Sounded like being malnourished could have been some of the problem. Maybe we will eventually get more updates.

Vinny's ad (sold) was dropped from the JD "rescue" page, and not relisted. So, this might be an indicator that Vinny didn't go back to JD.

I am fearful that an agreement was made. And ya know if she was able to recoop funds to go towards his care, than part of me doesn't blame her....BUT....once he was better, I'd be back to spread the story and the word ;)

Hoping all is well with Vinny :)

my puppy has also soft spots in her head, is very tiny and Vinny's problelms sound very similar to my babbies :( Doctor also mentioned liver shunt, and will test her in a month or so ( she is only 4 months old) Please post how Vinny is doing....

Sorry I have not logged on for a while. Vinny has gotten blood work and does have a liver shunt. My iternet connection has been on and off and I have just been to sad about little vinny to post.

He is on medication and a little better, and stumbeling around a little and a lot happier. He will remain on medication until we raise enough money for his surgery.

i'm so sorry to hear about your new guy. if it's his spine, maybe a wheel chair like machine will work for him to walk. as for shaking, i agree with nerves, or worse..someone beat him, and caused all these problems.

I am sorry that your baby has a liver shunt. I know that it is very scary to deal with. I am glad to see an update, I have been worried about him. Keep your chin up, there is hope for shunt babies. Especally if it is found early, before too much damage is done to the liver. I am praying for you and little Vinny, and if you decide to bring him to the University of Tennessee for treatment, please let me know. I can get you a room free of charge.

Ooh, I had the feeling he had something, but gosh, I am sad to read it's the dreaded liver shunt. I am so sorry it is unbelievably expensive. Hugs to you, sorry that you are crying, I know you want to help this baby. Perhaps the Rescue place has some referrals for a less expensive surgery? I wish you the best. ;)

Ah thank your for update Kaity! So sorry to hear that Vinny for sure has the liver shunt. Please dont feel down, keep your spirits up. Try to get things together so you can then do the surgery. Please dont be so sad as Vinny needs your uplifting spirits ;). I will be sending prayers for little Vinny :hands:

Many of you have left fund raising links and other links to help little vinny out
We are contacting them currently, we also set up a fund raising accout and are making flyers/donation boxes to put in pet stores and are planing a bake sale for him. We are going to get this done! Here is our first add. It's a craigslist posting. Just a start though, what do you guys think?

PS: Our internet is fully out we are going to starbucks to get service until comcasts comes by hopefuly tomorrow. We will have more pictures on vinny up soon and feel free to contact us through any of the information on the posting if anybody wants. We are going to keep logging on though to keep everybody updated.
