| My dog cannot poo and won't eat! HELP Hi, my yorkie is still a baby, he weights only 1.5 lbs. This morning, he just lay down, and shaking while others were playing. He tried server times to poo, but nothing came out, I thought he may be in sugar shock, so I tried to give him some A/D food, but he doesn't want to eat at all. All he does is trying to find a hiding place and poo. I see some liquid (tiny tiny bit) came out, but that's it. I tried to feed him some A/D food and Nutri Cal by hand, but he throw up after 15 mins later. His stomach is not empty tho. What should I do????? Last edited by j8d42; 09-13-2008 at 09:59 AM. |

BANNED! | If you can get your baby to eat some canned pumpkin(real not pie filling) this will help him poo, also giving your baby some milk will soften his poop so he can go. It can also be coccidia which will make him feel like he has to poop all the time too. Coccidia can be cured with Albon which you can get from your vet. I'm pretty local to you and if you would like to call me feel free too. My phone number is on my website. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Honestly, I would get this puppy to vet ASAP. He cannot poop but clearly has severe urgency, he is trying to isolate, is laying down, shaking, won't eat, and has now thrown up. On top of that, he weighs 1.5 pounds! I would call this a situation that could very well turn into an emergency. I would go to the vet.

I agree that going to the vet is very important in a case like this...

| Baby is doing better now! Thanks guys! I just had a horrify experience, while i'm on my way to the animal hospital (10 sec. after I talked with Debbie on the phone), Lil Bit (that's his name by the way) rolled his eyes backward and the whole body just turned hard, his heart was not beating!!!!!! I was so scare, I tried to blow some air through his mouth and put drop of water inside, and thanks god, around a minute or two, his heart started to beat again, but his body was still hard like rock and all legs are still. Lucky I made it to the vet in time and now he is back, though still very tired! I was so scare that I can't even write, I was shaking when the nurse asked me to fill up the client form. Anyhow, he is very low in sugar, causing the brain does not function. When the vet did his blood test, it was so low that it did not even read it. I had been giving him Nutri-Cal every day, but still does not have enough sugar for this little guy. Vet suggested me to feed him A/D food every 6 hours. P.S. Thank you so much, Debbie! I really appreciate your help |
