Maya is really sick .....

Well I just got back from the Vet and I had to leave Maya there .....

They took her temp. and when she pull the Thermometer out it was covered in slimy Blood ... so they took her in the back right away .... I could not even say 'Goodbye' .... she said they will give her an IV ... antibiotics and run Bloodwork on her and some Test ..... she said she will have an X-Ray too ...... there going to call me later ..... the fever did not go down at all .....

She said she might be back home tomorrow night if everything goes well .... but it could be 2 days .....

There still thinking it is a Virus that is going around .... seems to be a pretty bad one ..... the place was swamped today again .....

Oh Jenny, I am so sorry girl I had been praying that Maya would be ok and that she wouldn't have to stay at the hospital. I am just so sorry. That poor, sweet little girl....I know your worried about her Hopefully though, she will only have to stay one night at the vets, and then she can come home. I know you'll be so lost without her if she has to stay gone for 2 nights/days Although, I the most important thing is that she gets better ASAP....and I'm sure that they are taking GREAT care of her up there I am still keeping her in my thoughts and prayers sweetie...keep us updated

I have very good news ... the Vet just called me before they changed Staff for tonight and she said they have done the X-Ray thing where they give her meds and take pics every 15 to 30 min to see if something is blocked ..... and .... there's not. I am so relieved right now ....

BUT ... she has not really improved yet ... they gave her meds for her tummy and meds for her pooper ..... ... and so far there was no more blood ...... she has been crying for a while so she said one of the Ladies in the Lab had Maya sitting on her Lap for a while .....

She also said Maya showed her true Terrier Heritage .... she bit one of the Nurses and that is the 2 time for today she did that ..... they said she is quite beastie today ... I would be scared too with all theses needles ....

Anyway ... she will have another IV throughout the night and my Vet will be back tomorrow morning at 8 and she said to call her at 9:00 so she can tell me what we're doing .....

So I guess it is a Virus after all ..... Yorkiechick1 ... thanks for your Info ... I told her about that and she said we will talk about that tomorrow morning .....

Thanks for all of the sweet messages and prayers .... that Maya is robbing my last nerve ...

Jenny, I just now saw this thread about poor little Maya. I'm praying for her to pull thru with flying colors and for the vet to have the wisdom and knowledge to know what to do for her.

That sounds like a horrible virus, I often wished I could bite a nurse, some are so bad at putting in IV's and some are so good. At least a dog will let them know it. Hope she feels better soon.

I just read this. my mom told me she heard there is a virus going around so maybe she got that. I hope she is better. Every time one of mine get sick like that i give them pedialyte and cook them white rice and chicken and they usually get better right away. Give Maya a kiss!
