| My vet just called and said wait a few hours and he should be fine , He probably irritated his trachea a bit so he is whimpering . Man do I have small dog syndrome ??He told me to make myself a cup of tea and relax . |

| I had a dog do this before long time ago and the vet told me to give just a few drops of water in a dropper and drop in his throat to help soften anyfood that may still be stuck. My dog was breathing fine etc.. It sure can rattle your nerves!! Give your baby a hug, and he could just be scared from your reaction. I know I scared my boy to death.. didn't mean to but I did. | sorry just saw this. How is he acting now???? everyone mentioned what i would have, get the food out, monitor him, and take him to the vet. Pepper choked once on a piece of food, she got it up but acted wierd after she was as shaken up as I was, depending on the size of the kibble his throat will probably be sore and irritated for a day or so. just keep an eye on him and take him to the vet if it appears he is having a hard time breathing. sorry I couldn't be more help, how YOU doing??

| Good morning and thank all of you . I called my vet 2 times and both times he told me to relax and in a few hours Wiz would be okay . I brought him beside me in the kennel as always and I fell sleep to the sounds of him whimpering and breathing heavy . Sometime in the night , he must have stopped . He is resting quietly .. not his usual morning self but way better than all the trauma last night . One day at a time . This is my first dog this tiny ( he is 4 months and a pound and a half ) and I worried so because of his size . Thank all of you who walked me through this online and especially to the lady known as 'grandmatoall" who emailed me privately and gave me her support . God bless you all . |
