First off: many young pupies are still not fully coordinated in their walk and sit especially on smooth sirfaces.
You said you just got "a new born puppy"~~HOW OLD is the puppy now??? This is important to know in order to get some helpful info.
I agree with the others: please take your puppy to the vet for a "new puppy check". All new puppies should see the vet within a few days of coming to their new home. This way the vet checks for heart/lung, hips/knees, temp, weight, gums (anemia), etc. The visit shouldn't cost very much ($14-20) unless the pup is in need of another series of shots/worming. Also, most breeder contracts require the owner to have a vet check within 5-7 days to maintain the guarantee. So many things can be found at an early stage.
My little Scooter's heart defect was found on the first vet check the day after we brought him home. It was caught as a murmur which led to cardiac ultrasound and surgery. The surgery saved his life. I didn't have to witness his health decline, be unable to breath or him be in pain. Last week Scooter went for his final ultrasound with the cardiologist. The doc said "you and his surgeon saved his life. Otherwise he would have been buried in the backyard by now". It was worth every penny (still making payments) to give him a chance to have a life.
