| I am so sad for this sweet puppy. When Livi first came to us, she was sick and didn't want to eat. Her vet STRESSED to us how important it was with these tiny breeds to get them to eat...VERY IMPORTANT! If this little baby was not eating, even for a day, she could have gotten sick that quickly. I hope she ends up being okay.Tammy |

| Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am sorry this is happening. Have you talked to the new owners recently? I would ask them if they want to return her and get a refund. The puppy may need to stay with you until she is stronger. Unfortunately the vet bills are going to keep running up and you may want to discuss the options with the new owners now before the puppy is beyond help and bills are really high. Good luck and I hope the puppy gets better really soon.

| May be this story will help you understand what realy happened. I bought a puppy trixie, two weeks ago. The breader was spoke to me on the phone for a long time ago. She told me that it will get sick because of the change of environment. she will shake. if she does not eat, and she will wine the whole night. She made me read about it, and gave me a suplement, and the food to start the puppy for a week. two days after the pupp was home, she still did not eat, but I forced the nutrients in her. She did not ger sick, or vomit, or wine at night. Nothing she did was a surprise to me. Now she is eating everything in site. What I am trying to tell you is, that next time, you should anticipate this, and make sure the buyer knows what to spect fromm a tiny yorkie. Dont trust people to buy the same food you feed them sell or include the stater in the price. I never own a yorkie, but I read so much about it before I bought it that I knew not to panic |

| Yes, I did do all that - I told them exactly what to expect because I have been breeding for quite some time and I know all about the hypoglycemia problems, and all that. I specifically told her what I had fed the dogs, and also told her EXACTLY what to do if the puppy was not eating or seemed listless or lethargic. I told her to watch her and ensure that she was eating and if she wasn't they needed to call me back and call their vet. Unfortunately they didn't take my advice or listen to what I had said at all, and now this sweet little puppy is suffering for it. So I think that I did everything I could on my end, what bothers me is that they knew on Tuesday morning when they called me that this puppy had not eaten since Monday afternoon, and they let her go until Friday afternoon before taking her to the vet. I can only assume the dog had not eaten since Monday afternoon, and I know that the puppy must have been going downhill, which begs the question why didn't they take her to the vet earlier? I am beginning to wonder if they left her alone in the house for a few days and when they came back she was almost comatose. I don't know that for a fact, but it seems to me a little strange that someone could see a puppy was vomiting and not eating and they didn't call the vet. I would have had my dog to the vet the following day after it started!

| I am so heartbroken about this poor little girl. If I had room in my apartment, I would snatch her from the owners immediately. Jack would love a friend. I just can't believe they let her go 4 days! I noticed Jack was urinating more frequently and in places he knew better and I took him to the vet the very same day! It turned out to be an infection and I am glad I didn't hesitate so it got worse. Which leads me to my point, I didn't care if it cost me an $80 vet visit. I needed to make sure it wasn't a medical reason for this sudden change in behavior before I classified it as potty training mishap. And before we even got Jack I did 4 days research on the breed to make sure that i knew everything I possibly could and to make sure that this was indeed the breed for me. I just can't imagine sitting there watching my new puppy going down, and fast. I really do hope she gets better. My prayers are with you both. A visit to her my not be a bad idea. It may prove to the owners that you do care and you do want to do whatever it takes plus you get to see her. Keep us posted. I want to know what happens.

| I'm a little confused by your first post... You said "this is the second litter for our 2 dogs and the LAST litter was born 05/06/2008".. Which by the way is my birthday... Exactly how old is this puppy? I cannot tell if the puppy was from the last litter on May 6th or a more recent litter...Sorry if this is a dumb question but it is late... Also, do you offer any kind of puppy package with your puppies. If so, you might want to include a sample bag of their dog food...Hope the puppy is ok and be sure to keep us updated... |

| This puppy is 12 weeks, she was born in May. The first litter was born Nov. 1, 2007. No, unfortunately I didn't give them any food, I have done that in the past but I didn't do it this time. I just told them what I had the pups on. I am going to call the vet first thing in the morning and find out how she's doing, and I am thinking about driving in there to see her. Thank you all for your nice comments and support, it sure does help right now. This is a horrible time for me, and I am praying like crazy for her.

| WOOHOO!!!! I just talked to the vet again and she went home this morning. It was hypoglycemia, and the vet told them that they waited too long to bring her in. They didn't follow my instructions at all, and told the vet that they didn't know what kind of food she had been on - I am so mad at these people right now, but thanking god that our little girl is okay. The vet said she perked up before they left last night, and this morning she was howling to get out and eat! So I am thrilled that she's okay, I just hope that these people follow the vet's instructions from now on. Thanks for all your suggestions and support!!!

| I am so happy for the little girl. I sure hope they take better care of her. I think it's wrong they lied to the vet about her food but I bet they will take it more seriously this time.

| Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I am happy to hear that the puppy is going to be ok. It is very important to give new puppy owners a small bag of the dog food and a tube of nutri-cal. I also suggest writen instructions to go home with the puppy--sometimes in the excitement of a new puppy--the new owners aren't realllllllllllllly listening. |

| I'm very proud of everyone that replied to this thread and was very helpful. In the past Yter's have been know to be down right mean. Thank God this wasn't the case here and Thank God this baby pulled through! Congratulations Erika!

| I'm so glad that baby is going to pull through. Maybe the new owners will take your advise seriously this time. I hope they do the right thing and take care of her properly. I'm sure it is a weight off your shoulders, it's nice to hear a good outcome!!
