YT 1000 Club Member | This reminds me: Quite a few years back we had a dog and she had started getting sick. Throwing up, not being able to poop. The vet sent us to the U of I because they had better equipment for diagnosing. Turned out she had gobbled up a piece of plastic from a package of deli meat. It caused a blockage, but if that hadn't have happened we'd have never learned she had intestinal cancer until it was too late. They did the surgery to remove the plastic and removed a section of her instestine that was cancerous and bought her another year of life. When it came back we were going to start chemo with her but it was far too advanced and took her before we had the chance. But we still prolonged her a good healthy year before she passed. Swallowing that plastic was a blessing in disguise. But it doesn't turn out to always be that way. Sounds like your puppy is teething or getting bored when your gone. Lots and lots of toys are the only thing that kept Roxie from chewing things up she shouldn't have. Even though I don't have to keep her confined when I'm not around anymore I still scan the rooms for anything that might tempt her. How old is your puppy? |

Well he's on meds but he hasn't pooped today and it's too hot outside to fight with him. He also hates the greenies they gave us for his pills and we're out of treats. SO we've resorted to wrapping his pills in bread(dog loves bread) and acting likehe's not suppose to have it so he'll chew it up faster. But they squeezed his abdomin to see if he's yelp and he didn't so they figured nothign was blocking. ooh and teddy is 8 months old. 8 months and 15 lbs

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I cannot BELIEVE they gave a sick dog a BORDATELLA vaccine. If it were me, I would NEVER allow this vet to touch my dog again. That is horrible care. It's fine to put the pills in bread.

| it was my first time taking him there for a walk in. The only time I've taken him was to get neutered. The previous owner has a pet plan with thema nd is allowing us to continue using it(she pays for it every month). I didn't expect a vaccine just some antibiotics but they insisted on it since it's past due(was suppose to have it last week but couldn't due to husbands work). The poor thing just lays in his kennel or bed all day it's so hard to get him to move around and do things and giving him his pills is even harder.. we went from hiding them in greenies to pieces of chicken to bread. We had to change his food because he HATED the prescription stuff so we went and bought chicken to boil to give to him I'm going to add rice to his dinner meal (they said chicken and rice)
