This reminds me:
Quite a few years back we had a dog and she had started getting sick. Throwing up, not being able to poop. The vet sent us to the U of I because they had better equipment for diagnosing. Turned out she had gobbled up a piece of plastic from a package of deli meat. It caused a blockage, but if that hadn't have happened we'd have never learned she had intestinal cancer until it was too late. They did the surgery to remove the plastic and removed a section of her instestine that was cancerous and bought her another year of life. When it came back we were going to start chemo with her but it was far too advanced and took her before we had the chance. But we still prolonged her a good healthy year before she passed. Swallowing that plastic was a blessing in disguise. But it doesn't turn out to always be that way. Sounds like your puppy is teething or getting bored when your gone. Lots and lots of toys are the only thing that kept Roxie from chewing things up she shouldn't have. Even though I don't have to keep her confined when I'm not around anymore I still scan the rooms for anything that might tempt her. How old is your puppy? |
