| your advice! My little 13week old female yorkie, 3pds. 12 oz was out on the deck earlier. She fell into the pool and was scooped out immediatly. Ran around playing, her head had not gone under the water. She was wet but acted just fine. So she is playing on the deck and it is a very big deck. On one corner of it she got off of it and went into the yard and one of our bichons grabbed her and had a hold of her for like 30 seconds before she let go. Checked the yorkie allover and there was no cut places. She can stand and walk but seems a little confused, slept some, shook some, slept some more, then threw up all her dinner which she had just eaten before going out on the deck. Then she slept some more. She seems somewhat confused and disoriented and so we gave her some nutrical and got a few little syringes of water in her and she has been sleeping since. I don't know quite what to think of all this. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | I know you probably know this already, but call your vet. Keep her away from bichons for a while....I'll bump this up for you for someone who knows more on this subject than me.... I really wish you the best and I hope she recovers well! |

| Where did the Bichon get hold of her? What part of her body? What did the dog do to her, did she get shaken? I'd call the vet right away. Keep a close eye on her and have someone on call incase you have to take her in. Good luck!!! Let us know what the vet says!!! |

| Thanks to you! Just wanted to say that Dixie is doing fine today, thank the good Lord! She really gave me a scare. I stayed up with her till like 4:00am, just to make sure she was sleeping and breathing well and everything was okay. This morning she got up, played all over the place with my daughters yorkie who is two weeks younger, Teddy. She ate and drank and went to the piddle pad and seems just like her self. I have been trying to introduce these two little yorkies to my two Bichons who are 7 yrs old and about 16 pds each. They are both so hpyer and want to see the puppies but are too aggressive and territorial which I know the territorial part is natural for them to show I was here first. My vet recommended getting the bichons a muzzle and for no more than about 20 to 30 minutes having them on a leash with a muzzle on and letting them smell, and play with the puppies. This way they can do that and move them around but not put thier mouths on them. I have tried this a couple of times and it went well but yesterday Dixie went off the edge of the deck into the fenced in yard and one of the bichons jumped on her grabbing her with her mouth. She is okay but I was sure scared and so today I had the fencing all around the deck fixed with fencing under the bottom rail so they won't be able to get off it at all. This will not happen again! Thanks for your advice. So many good people are in this site! |

| I'm glad Dixie is doing well. I don't want to scare you but please be careful with the swimming pool. One of my yorkies drowned in my neighbors swimming pool. He got out of the yard and thought he could walk on the pool cover and went under the cover, we didn't find him until 3 days later. Make sure you put a floating alarm in the pool or have one of those pool ramps for dogs, I don't want you to go through what my husband and I did with our little boy. Take care.

| I sure am glad all is well. Both of mine have walked right into the pool before...with no consequences thank goodness. You know a traumatic experience like that could have put her in shock...or it could have possibly made her sugar drop. You did the right thing with the Nutrical, you just might have saved her with that.
