| Need Advice: 6 mth old is shivering and sleeping a lot - Worried I'm sorry if this is a repeat topic - but a search wasn't yielding the results I was looking for. Just over a month ago, my Molly was treated for and recovered from Parvo. Since then she's done beautifully. Just over a week ago, she received her final round of vaccines and had what I believe was a delayed reaction to the shots. 1/4 baby aspirin per the vet and a little water via syringe and she was fine. Last night she began acting very groggy and chilled. Our house temp is set to 70 but I put her in her little hoody just for added warmth. I wrapped her up, she slept fine though the night. Today she's acting much the same. I've given her water with Karo at regular intervals. I've given her Nutri-Cal three times throughout the day in small doses - which she ate without trouble. I fixed her some Chicken and Rice soup - she drank the broth without trouble. She's urinating regularly - seems a little constipated, but went late last night and this morning. Parvo scared me to death and I don't want to take any chances. Our vet is out since this is Saturday evening and won't return until Monday. It pains me so much to watch my Molly acting this way. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks

| Thanks. It just seems like she's been through SO much already for her short little life. I just want to get her better and keep her better so bad. The morning she was diagnosed with Parvo, she had a seizure. It's the most horrible thing I've ever seen - I want to do all I can to make sure she doesn't have to experience anything like that ever again. I did give her another quarter aspirin in hopes that would help break the chill. She seems to be sleeping peacefully without the shakes now. I had preemie twins as a mom and I've just sort of been predisposed to excessive worrying. I truly hope I'm just being a worry wart - but I really don't like when Molly doesn't act happy and healthy.

| She's been eating Bentiful dog food. We have other dogs and try as I might to get her on Science Diet - she just prefers what the others eat. The vet said that was fine. Today she drank the broth from chicken soup and has drank water on her own. She's even ate some of the Bentiful food too. I've given her a medicine cup full of Karo water throughout the day along with the water she's been drinking. I warmed up a rice bag and placed it under her blanket in her bed. She seems to like that. She's not shivering as much but still seems a little on the low energy side. Too much to be typical of her. I'm beginning to wonder if it's not constipation. Would these be symptoms of that? She's not had a poo since late last night I am pretty sure.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | It's okay to give baby aspirin to a dog. I doubt it's a delayed reaction to vaccines.
