| I need help! I would like to know what you guys think. About a week ago Bella who is 2 1/2 pounds was playing with my peke-a-poo who is about 10 pounds (as they always have) and something happened where Bella starting screaming in pain. I don't know exactly what happened between them because they have always played together without incident. I picked her up and cradled her and she stopped crying. However, when I put her on the floor she couldn't keep her balance and fell. Seems both of her back legs where hurt. Well I was mortified! I took her to the vet right away and vet took x-rays to rule out broken legs, but did notice her legs were stiff. The vet gave her a shot of anti-inflammatory. She did notice a little something in the x-ray and says she cannot rule out Legg Perthes. She doesn't think this what is causing the pain at the moment, but says that she wants Bella to have x-rays again in two months "just to be safe". Well, the next day after the shot she was doing great, almost back to normal. Well now she doesn't want to eat very much and doesn't want to play either. She kind of just lays around. Do you guys thinks it's because she's still sore? It just doesn't make sense that the day after the shots she was so energetic and now she seems so sad. Also, she was spayed two weeks ago. Do you think she could still be sore from that?

| Hmmmmm.... So two weeks ago she got spayed and one week ago she was injured during rough play. Is it possible the rough play may have caused something to occur with the spay area?

| I did suggest that to the vet, but she insists that it was the hips that were hurt. I can't help but wonder if it could also be the spay area because I don't know how long it takes to fully recover from that type of surgery. My peke was running around and acting normal within 2 days of her surgery. Bella "appeared" to be back to normal after about 4 days. I just realized her spay was actually 3 weeks ago, not 2. I feel so bad for her.

| Maybe the shot has caused this side effect. Maybe she gave her a muscle relaxant shot. That will make them feel that way. I sure hope she isn't in the begaining stage of Legg-Perthes disease. Bless her little heart! |

| Did the vet check out her knees? Fergie was playing a little to rough and she had the same symptoms....when I took her the vet he said it was her knee and gave her some meds. She limped around for a few days. They are just so very fragile.... |
