Yorkie Talker | Diarrhea What are the common causes of diarrhea for yorkies?? Mine is 7 & 1/2 weeks old and just started having loose stool yesterday. It's not that bad but I want to prevent anything worse. Could it be because I'm pre-soaking the dog food? I'm feeding him the eukanuba's puppy formula for small breeds. |

you need to change foods. Eukanuba is like us eating mcdonalds every day. Try a brand like wellness or orijen or solid gold or canidae. if he is tiny (under 3 lbs) i'd bring him to the vet.. he is too tiny and too young to be messing around with his health. I hope he improves. | |

Yorkie Talker | dog food, water, and treats?? Is Eukanuba really that bad??? The breeder recommended it to me.. I'm thinking now that the problem could be due to changing my puppy's water recently. We ran out of distilled water and so I gave him our filtered water from the fridge.. I'm changing it back to distilled to see if anything changes. If he has bad poo one more time though, I'm taking him to the vet! And how old do these puppys need to be before being able to eat biscuits and treats?? |

7.5 weeks is very young to leave mom. Any vomiting and diarrhea in a pup shouldn't be brought to the attention of a vet. Eukanuba is not good but I would wait until the stomach issues are settled to change unless you think that is what is causing it.
