| KaCee is acting strange today KaCee is acting strange today. Belive me, I rush my dogs to the vet if they even sneeze funny so I would already be there if I thought she needed to go...I'm just concerned about her. When Blake gets home at 5, I'll see what he thinks. She's not really lethargic, she just doesn't have any energy. This morning, I practically had to drag her out of her crate. Since then, she's slept about 80% of the day. When I pick her up, she very quietly whimpers..or moans like it's uncomfortable to be held? She's interested in toys, but she won't play with them, just sits and watches A.J and she hasn't played with him all day either. Right now, she's laying in her bed. If I get up and leave the room, she will follow me, but it takes her about 10 minutes before she'll get up and and come find me. She's ate some and she's drinking water so I don't feel that hypoglycemia is the problem. I did give her a little dab of nutrical about 20 minutes ago to see if it'd help. Her gums are pink. I can't think of anything she could of gotten into that would be making her sick. I don't feed her human food and she hasn't had any treats for the last couple days. Any thoughts? I hate seeing her like this.

| Update! My common sense finally kicked in about 5 minutes after posting this thread! I took her to the vet a little after 3:30pm. They are busy with appointments today so they just kept her and said they would monitor her and work her in as time allowed. Well, the vet just called me back. Her belly is very distended and she is running a temperature of 104. She said that that's a pretty strong indication that she has an infection of some sort. They say one possibility may be that a sponge or something being left inside her from her spay! (my regular vet did not do the spay..The KSU Vet school did) They have her on an IV trying to get her temp. down and they are going to do some bloodwork to figure out what's going on. I am supposed to call them back at 5:30.

| I will update as soon as I hear anything. I'm just so worried about her. I hate that I didn't take her to the vet sooner. I just really didn't think anything was wrong. Her belly hasn't been distended all day because that was one of the first things I checked this morning. Last night, she was acting 100% normal. It's strange that it came on so fast. I'm just so relieved that I had the day off today. I can't imagine if I had to work, she would of been alone all day. 5:30 isn't coming fast enough.

| Like I said in my first post, normally, I want to take them if they even sneeze weird...and generally, nothing is wrong and by the time we get to the vet office, they are already back to their normal selves. Blake is the sensible one, he keeps a level head about these kind of things. That's why, all day, I've been holding out for 5 when he gets home from work. I was going to wait and let him decide if we should take her in or not. I'm praying that I got her there quick enough and she is going to be just fine.

| Update! Okay, well we just got home from the vet. They decided to let me bring her home tonight because there is nobody there to watch her overnight. They gave her an antibiotic/anti-inflammation injection and did a cbc and chem. They sent me home with clavamox drops that I am to give her tonight before bed. At the moment, the injection is definitely working! She's running around, her ears are perked up...she still moans when picked up though. I'm supposed to keep an eye on her, give her the clamamox tonight and then see how she is in the morning. If her belly is still distended in the morning, they want her back as soon as possible to do x-rays. They will also know the results of the bloodwork tomorrow morning. I think that's all I know for now. I'm so happy to have her back home. I know we're not out of the woods yet, but it's so great to see her have some energy back.

| I can tell the shot they gave her is starting to wear off now. Over the last hour or so she's really started to slow down. For awhile tonight, I'd almost say she was back to her normal self, her belly even softened up. She's asleep in her bed again and her belly has hardened back up. I just gave the clavamox and we're off to bed. We'll see how things look in the morning. Thank you so much for all of the prayers. I've seen prayer work miracles on YT and I pray that it will help KaCee as well.

| Update! Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of the thoughts and prayers! She is doing great this morning! I gave her Clavamox about 10 pm last night then put her to bed. We woke her up at 6:30am and I've been watching her until now. She's full of energy, she's playing with A.J and her belly is soft!! I just got off the phone with the vet and they are just as happy as I am! Her blood work came back fine except for a slightly elevated kidney value. I am going to continue the clavamox every 12 hours and continue to monitor her belly. I wish I had an explanation for her symptoms yesterday but I don't care as long as she feels good today!
