| Do i need to take him to the vet?? HELP!!! 911!!! Chewy has bad food allergies, we can only feed him marshmallows as a snack and he is on lamb and rice because thats the only thing that does not give him a bad reactions. We took him to my parents this weekend and he got into some peanut shells and was very itchy as to be expected. We came home today and had gotten into some cheese crackers w/ peanut butter on them. (i feel SO BAD!!!) who knows what more he got into but his belly that is usually very slender is swollen like a balloon is in it and feels kind of hardish....He is very itchy but he usually is when he gets into food....but his ears are not very red like they usually are.... any idea???

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | What are his gums like - they should be pink, not pale. Is he listless? Is he drinking? Given your frantic description - I think I'd take him to the vet bc the description makes me think this is so outside "his normal", you know what I mean? Please update if you can.

| the gums are a pale pink...he is eating and drinking but did not go #2 tonight, this afternoon he went and it was rather large...2-3 times the normal size....and he always goes the same time every single day so it was odd

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Since he went 2-3x normal this afternoon, I'm not surprised he didn't go tonight. Did his tummy go down yet? With the gums - you'd want to press on them - when you press, they'll go white, then they should return to pink right away - do they do that?

| oh I hope he is ok Could getting into bread make the belly distended? I heard that they should never eat bread and that it swells up inside of them....does anyone know if there is any truth to that? Hopefully we will see a Chewy update here soon. I am worried about him Last edited by erino77; 06-24-2008 at 08:48 PM. |
