update on lexi
 
this morning went smooth.... she hated the medicine.. but who doesnt hate medicine right?....
she LOVED the perscription food they gave her.. and she drank plenty of water. i had to leave her for two hours while i went to work before scott got home from work.... i hated leaving her.
when i got home, she looks like shes going downhill....
i dont know of shes going to make it. shes just whimpering and breathing hard.. and every once in awhile she spits up. i dont think shes spitting up medicine bc i gave her anti vomiting med. i think shes also vomiting water.... not alot, but enough. so i called the vet again...... they said that they could put fluids in her tomorrow. and they told me to wait and give her more anti vomiting med and not to force her to eat or drink.
i just want her to get better... its breaking my heart to watch her go through this

oh poor sweet girl. I think i missed your original thread.. what is wrong with her?

Your biggest threat is dehydration due to her size....

I'm sorry Lexi is sick...and I hope you have contacted your breeder.

She really needs to be on an IV. I dont know why that vet sent her home

Could you get her into a different vet? A vet that can take her NOW? I do not like the idea of waiting. She needs to have iv fluids , because her condition is very unstable. Her little body needs support. She is too tiny to fight this on her own. :aimeeyork

The VET said Tommorrow ?? :eek: You need to get her in tonight - like NOW or she isn't going to make it....that poor baby - she must be hurting so bad. Parvo is awful for a puppy to have but she isn't being treated properly -

I really hope you have another vet you can rush her too because this doesn't sound good at all. She's suffering - you need to do something or you won't have a puppy anymore. you said in your other thread you would do all it takes - well NOW is the time if it isnt already too late

I don't want to sound harsh - I want you to save your puppy !!

Please listen to V. This baby needs vet help now. Even the most experienced owners wouldn't be able to handle this at home.

And especially if you have to leave her by herself for long periods of time. I'm a pretty calm and easy-going person, but I am going to have to leave this thread now. Please do the right thing and do it NOW.

I wasn't going to say anything else but you have to make a decision - The vet for treatment - or the vet to end her suffering. I'm so sorry to say that but that's your reality if you don't get her in RIGHT AWAY.

She's hurting & you have to take care of her. It may be too late to save her and I'm so sorry to say that :(:(:(....but Parvo is a death sentence without the right medical attention. you can't 'give her medicine' then leave her alone. She needs to be watched right now and under a vets supervision

Allison: I believe this dog is in a LIFE OR DEATH situation - AN EMERGENCY - and needs to see a vet immediately or SHE MAY DIE.

YES THIS IS ME SHOUTING - and yes, I think this puppy may die. You need to find an EMERGENCY VET NOW. PLEASE.

When a dog has trouble breathing - there is NO MORE TIME for discussion. She may have aspirated her vomit or worse.

Tomorrow??!! I'd be looking for a new Vet tomorrow! But your little girl needs a Vet NOW! She is so little, she doesn't have much reserve. She needs supportive care ASAP!

I told you in an earlier post that i went through this with my lab puppy years ago, the only reason lady made it was that she was hooked up to iv and spent a few days in the animal hospital. Please take your pup in to a hospital...
