Checking in to see how Lexi is doing today?

we'll be bringing Lexi home tonight.. we were thinking about leaving her there just ONE more night, but the costs would be $400 for that ONE night because its a week day. weekend was like $80 so i could swallow that. the dr said he was stable and ready to come hime also so.... i just hope she stays stable. thanks for all the prayers

Is the doctor hopeful she will recover then? Did he mention any risk of her being reinfected through your house? I'm happy to hear things look better.:)

ive been cleaning like a nut woman.
ive mopped with bleach-water everywhere i could.. wipped down everything in the kitchen with the bleach-water and bathrooms, and sprayed lysol disinfectant on all the carpets, rugs, couches, pillows ect. now, since she was laying on my bed while i was folding clothes, i have to washed my linens plus ALL of my clothes. i know it might seem a little extreme but i want this virus GONE. oh, i hope i can get to my car too....

Actually it is not extreme. Parvo is a nasty, contagious, virus that can live several months in the enviroment. Bleach is the only way to kill the virus. It is vital to do what your doing. Puppies/dogs can get infected with parvo again too, it is a brutal virus .
I am very glad Lexi is doing well. Did the vet suggest any type os diet for her? I am assuming the parvo was caught in time for her to overcome the illness . SHe does not have a fever anymore, vomiting or direhea, right? AND Lexi was being treated with IV therapy correct? My understanding is that Bloody stools is an indication of Parvo, she does not have that right?
I hope it is not too soon to bring her home, that's all. I am sure your not going to want to see her go downhill again. THe worst is over for her, right? I totally understand about the financial costs it is taking care of a sick animal .It is comparable to a human getting sick, sometimes more.
I"d like to recommend you looking into a pet insurance program . Some are better then others, but well worth it. In case something ever like this happens again it will be easier to deal with the costs. I need to do the same thing too. I am a single parent, disabled, and my son is too .I fully understand how difficult it is.:aimeeyork
You did the right thing getting Lexi treated. She is so tiny and precious. AND did not get a good start in life. THe breeder is awful to be in business, selling sick puppies with little regard of their future well being and health. I am very sorry this happened to you. :aimeeyork

How do you clean surfaces that can't be bleached such as carpeting? Is a spray disinfectant effective?

There are special cleaning agents that are recommened to get rid of Parvo. They have to be ordered though. :aimeeyork

he said she hasnt thrown up or had diahhea since the night i dropped her off... shes holding her glucose high too. they took her off the drip late this morning to see if she would go downhill (since i want to bring her home tonight).. but he said she hasnt changed at all since yesturday afternoon. the vet said as long as i can feed her every 3 hrs, she will be ok at home.. and since im taking only two summer classes (not back-to-back and only an hour each) ill have plenty of time to be with her :)

Just want to wish you the best of luck with Lexi when you bring her home. If love could cure Parvo...she'd be well already.

Hoping Lexi is home and feeling better. Are they 100% sure she had parvo? Iam so glad she has recovered so quickly.

Just checking to see of Lexi is home yet :) You need to take a picture of her so we can all see how well she is doing, since so many people have been cheering her on and praying for her health :)
