this is a lesson to be learned by breeders and by client's i do respect
the clients wanting to make sure they get a healthy pup
and as breeder that is what i want most to do
weather it be a show pup some day or a beloved family pet etc
but screening these babies at an early age to make sure your heart and pocket does not get broke is far to much

these are a chance dog for the time
as with other breeds they have there health issue's
will breeder's stand behind there dog's i should hope so
but as was said i tried to do what was correct and it lost me a very sweet baby boy and almost a little girl was the testing worth it well if there is something to be learned i guess than maybe yes as a breeder we make mistakes at times as this was mine to live with

and to be honest yes the pressure of the screaming test test etc
was a factor in my decision to test these babies
even with knowing mom and dad are clear it has always sat in the back seat are the next generation clear too!
and i never wanted to be a breeder who had a sick pup in this section and watch what the new owner has had to go threw
but to all new owners my advice to you is only listen to half of what you read
pick your breeder carefully if you pm me for a pup please dont ask me for this type of testing i do vet chek etc and i will back up what i place
if the unforseen happens and i will be there for support

and for the educated non breeder's i feel like i was pushed in a corner and i want to thank you for the pressure
with all the screaming puppies are just that puppies if they are healthy
and mom and dad are also than somethings in life you take a chance on and if you want your new puppy tested than be prepared to wait untill they are older for the testing to be safe and more accurate please do not expect a breeder to jepordize a pups life at such a young age
for a test that may be good now and an accuired may show up later
to breeders if you have a sick pup it is a chance you must take with having it tested but as several have stated test your adult's and back your breedings up and support your clients that is about all that can be done

until a dna marker is found for this breed and let's all pray it is soon

rip my lil teaser your life was not taken in vain

ANYONE who reads this can feel your pain sweetie
You tried to do what was right (or what others insisted )with a horrible ending...
Lil teaser had to suffer and die.
Hopefully it is not in vain.
Hopefully it has enlightened many people.
How is that poor little girl doing this morning Rose?
Her poor little legs from the Iv's looks so pitiful.

Hopefully others ...breeders and people wanting to buy a new puppy read this.
I think this post should have been on the main forum where EVERYONE could read.

RIP lil teaser

thank you coffee is getting stronger with alot of tlc she will never leave my home
she reminds me of teaser some they had to put an iv in both leg's because her vain kept collasping on her but she is a little more perker this morning

did you read where someone tested one of lee's pup's and it died also for blood being drawn from the juglar scary

Rose, I pray your pain will lessen. I know you will never forget little Teaser and we will never forget either.

I read Lee's post, it was not one of her pups that died but someone that had called her inquiring about a puppy lost their puppy when blood was being drawn.

I'm so sorry for your loss! My heart goes out to you. RIP little Teaser.

but it is still sad it just seem's that taking a lot of blood from a small baby is to much healthy or not

thank's my pain is better today coffe is a baby doll and she reminds me of teaser in many way's she will never replace him but
she makes me feel as if part of him is still here and that help's

Rose, I can't imagine how you feel right now. Please don't blame yourself, you tried doing the right thing.
Teaser has helped us all learn a very valuable lesson.

A breeder friend of mine lost a pup drawing blood, and my Vet had one die in her hands while drawing blood, so she refuses to test young unless there is reason.

Thanks for sharing that information. Apparently this might be a bigger problem that we have been led to believe. It has definitely been an eye opener.
