If she's completely asymptomatic, meaning no funny behavior, lethargy, pickiness, thinness,etc. then it's okay to up her protein as long as it's the proper type. Her main protein is from cottage cheese and eggs - occasionally she will get a tiny, tiny, tiny piece of fresh cooked chicken, but other than that, no bad stuff. She is not picky at all, she inhales food in a blink of an eye. Her behavior is outstanding, I think it's a combo: the food she now eats and coming out of her shy shell. But daily I am so impressed by her behavior and attitude, it makes me very happy

Now her weight....last year she weighed at the most 5.3 (maybe even 5 lbs 5 oz) - Since her diet change, she is now 4 lbs 4 ozs - I hope it is b/c of her new diet - She also does Indie 500 laps around my house at least 3x a day (she has HIGH anxiety and just goes straight into big lap mode ) So I contribute her weight loss to that as well.

Does her vet say she is underweight?
Ellie is very skinny also.
She gets lots of food because she burns it off.
I'd say maybe 3/4-1 cup a day...
Ellie eats chicken often.
She was on egg for a long time which was fine but I don't want her to develop an allergy to it and she handles meat very well.
We just stay away from red and exotic meats.

Speaking in a liver compromised dog sense, dogs who are hungry all the time are typically not getting enough protein.

My hubby thinks she is too thin now. She does feel like my wrist, and I can feel her spin.

Before when she weighed about 5 lbs, the Vet and Specialist said she had too much of a layer of fat over her ribs. I also don't think she has very good muscle tone, not sure if she ever could. But by the laps she does, I would think her muscle tone would be great!

I am going to call the nutrionist now and see what I should or should not be doing

She mainly gets cottage cheese. For the last 5 months I would boil chicken and shred it as a topper for TJ's food, he wouldn't eat without it, and I would also sprinkle a tiny bit on Roxy's too. I switched to egg as a topper b/c I needed to eggshells - but maybe I will go back to chicken as TJ doesn't care too much for the eggs
