| Intestinal Parasites I recently had a friend who purchased a maltese and 3 days after she got him, she was in the pet hospital with him because he was having seizures, foaming out of the mouth and eating his own feces. So the doctor told her (after paying 700 bucks) that he had an intestinal parasite what was preexisting and all of the stress from the flight (missouri to virginia) caused the case to be greater... I am getting my yorkie in 5 days and I am TERRIFIED that this will happen to him... has this happened with anyone else? |

| One suggestion. Make an appointment with your vet for the same day or the day after your new puppy arrives. Be sure to collect a fecal sample to take with you to the exam. If there are any parasites in the fecal he can be treated before it gets out of hand. Coccidia is not uncommon when the puppy gets stressed like on a flight. If the puppy has been treated in advance it shouldn't be an issue, if not then he may need to be treated when he arrives. It's always best to take your new puppy straight to the vet for an evaluation, whether you get him from across the country or the neighbor next door. Having him evaluated first thing means he will have a chart at the vet with important information that will be used as a starting point if anything does go wrong. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Good let us know how it goes and we need pics once he's home. Try not to worry just let him settle in, make sure he is eating and drinking and have Nutrial on hand. It is so exciting to get a new puppy!!
