One suggestion. Make an appointment with your vet for the same day or the day after your new puppy arrives. Be sure to collect a fecal sample to take with you to the exam. If there are any parasites in the fecal he can be treated before it gets out of hand. Coccidia is not uncommon when the puppy gets stressed like on a flight. If the puppy has been treated in advance it shouldn't be an issue, if not then he may need to be treated when he arrives.

It's always best to take your new puppy straight to the vet for an evaluation, whether you get him from across the country or the neighbor next door. Having him evaluated first thing means he will have a chart at the vet with important information that will be used as a starting point if anything does go wrong.
