| He is shaking I'm very worried! Is it normal for yorkies to start shaking for no reason? He's been shaking for about three hours now but he seems fine. He is shaking and seems kind of worried or scared, but if I try playing with him he responds. I don't know what is going on with him. Does anybody know if I need to be worried?? |

| I think you need to take him to the vet. At least call the vet. That shaking would concern me.

| Please keep us updated. I wish I could tell you something different, but I would be concerned too.

| I agree with the others. Get him to the vet. Yorkies do tend to shake when they are excited, but what you described sounds like low blood sugar since he's not eating. |

| He could be having a hypoglycemic episode. I'm assuming this is a young puppy you have. If this is the case, yes, you should be worried. A new puppy simply must eat. Try giving him some canned food or boiled chicken to get him to eat. The Nutri-cal is good but Karo syrup will get into their system faster to boost their blood sugar level. If you're an inexperienced owner, you should get him to the vet ASAP. These episodes can get bad quickly. Any odd behavior such as you described is not normal in a puppy and you should be worried. |

| I called the vet he told me to mix his water with sugar and I did get him to eat (almost had to force him) but he actually stopped shaking. I don't know what this was but I hope it doesn't happen again. I was worried out of my mind. Thanks everyone for your advice!!! |

| Oh Good! Yay! Okay, now you might want to search for threads on here about hypoglycemia. It can be a VERY serious issue. Whew! Hugs to you and your furbaby!
