| well I have not heard from the vet yet with results from the fecal test. which Im upset about because I paid a lot for that and was told Id get the results the next morning. But in regards to fletcher, he has not had a bowel movement AT ALL since about an hour after getting home from the vets 2 nights ago. Which concerns me! However he is on a strict and small diet of boiled white rice and ground turkey which he only gets about 1/2 a cup 2x a day. He has not thrown up again, hes drinking water and eating his food, hes alert and active, but does seem more tired and cuddly than usual. Last night he went up to my bed by himself at around 8:45pm and an hour later I went up and he was sleeping on my pillow. He never goes up to bed without me. So he must be wiped out! I'll give the vet 1 more hour and if I do not hear from them I will call again, I will also ask about his lack of bowel movements. If I do not have the results of the sample Im going to ask to reverse the charges on that since I was not given what I paid for and the whole 20 min visit cost $170. Crazy!

| Just Columbo Vanilla. they don't really care for it. I did get the results back today. They are fine... no parasites, no nothing. Vet thinks Fletcher just had an upset tummy from something he ate. She said to keep him on the antibiotics for the course bc he did have a temp and had blood cells when she did a rectal exam. I guess those 2 things indicate possible infection. Other than that, hes good to go! Im going to keep feeding him homecooked for a couple more days, she said she was not surprised he has not had a bowel movement, he was probably emptied out. He should do it today or tomorrow and she suspects it will be normal. Once he has one she told me to slowly reintroduce him to his food by mixing small amounts of it into the homecooked food. Im seriously thinking going homecooked all the way now. Its cheaper and healthier and at least I know what my babies are eating! They are on royal canin right now. Im sure more of you would agree that homecooked is a good alternative right?

| Ugh! I posted on another thread but here is a recap. Fletcher was fine wednesday and thursday. I got a call from the vet thurs to say he does not have parasites and his sample came back clean. His rectal exam was clean too. He had not had a bowel movement in those 2 days at all. I told the vet that she said he was probably empty and he should have one by saturday at the latest. Well friday when I got home from work, he had diarrhea all over the kitchen. This time it had blood in it. although the vet had said it had blood in it the first time also, it was just not visible to the naked eye yet. She believes hes just irritated from having diarrhea, the blood is not IN It, more like around it. OK... well he threw up friday night once. And had bloody jelly like diarrhea 2x. I was going to take him to the emergency vet, but he was eating, drinking, acting alert and normal, hes already on meds, so I held off and just kept an eye on him all weekend. He seems fine, but I dont think hes had another movement since friday night. Im leaving work now and will find out if hes normal (I hope) when I get home. If hes not, he'll be back at the vets tomorrow. I hope he is ok now! Poor baby! hes loving this though! Hes being spoiled and catered too and getting lots of lovin and special food and tlc!
