Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hmm...well, dogs rarely "truly" lose their appetite unless something is kind of wrong. So, if it were me, I'd be taking this baby to the vet. Loss of appetite could be a sign of something - or it could be nothing - BUT, bc it could be an important sign of something, it's worth taking her in since it's been going on for awhile now.

| Check her gums make sure there are not pale and make sure you give her some pedilite, karo syrup or nutrical, that maybe why she has no energy,i dont want to scare you but these little babies can go down pretty quick with out some nourishment, thats why you need to check her gums and let me know she might not have the energy to eat, this should perk her up.please let me know. |

| How much does she weigh? It's not good for her to go too long without eating. I would definitely call the vet or take her in to be checked. Loss of appetite is never a good thing if it goes on too long. Can you get her to drink some chicken broth? Will she hand feed? I would do like the previous poster and check her gums for paleness. These babies can get hypoglycemia so fast if they don't eat. Give her some Nutrical, and if you don't have that, try Kayro Syrup. Since she sounds like she has low energy, that might perk her up enough to eat. Worth a try! I hope she starts eating soon!!!

| Wylie's Mom is right — dogs really don't just lose their appetite for no reason. Ruthie lost her appetite a few weeks ago and it has ended up being something to do with her liver, but PLEASE don't let that scare you — it could be something minor and a quick trip to the vet could (hopefully) get questions answered quickly. It is strange that no other symptoms are present, but I would be concerned about the lack of appetite which in turn is likely what is causing her to be 'lazy'. Lethargy is a definite sign that something is up.

| Good questions — maybe she's constipated?? Or maybe it's something as simple as a bad tooth that's causing her pain??

| she weighs about 4 lbs, maybe less these days. i've give her nutrical, she'll eat if i hand feed her. I just feed her some carrots mix with beef and soup. she ate about 1 table spoon of it. and now shes just sleeping. i call my vet, and he say just observe her for few more days, if she stay the same then he gonna do blood test. i also heard this could be a sign of pregnancy..is it true? she just had her loop ended a week ago. I always separate her from the boy, because shes too tiny to be breed. but you know, accident happened right?? hopefully its not this one...I really pray shes not pregnant... |

| If she is drinking water okay...add some Karo syrup, just a little to keep her sugar up. Sure hope she's feeling better real soon.

| I dont want to alarm you but my yorkie just went though something simalar. She didnt eat for 2 days her breath smelled weird and was depressed. I took her in on the morning of the 3rd day and it was to late to save her. She went into kidney failure. I had to put her to sleep on the 4th day. I would go ASAP just to be on the safe side. I wonder all the time if I had gone a day sooner wouyd she be here?
