The other common kind of raw is called prey model. This is what I feed and it is simply raw meat. Not ground. For instance, my dogs had a raw chicken breast, bone and all for dinner tonight. The collie ate the whole thing but my yorkie just ate until she was full. I also feed things like pork, fish, lamb and beef. They are doing wonderfully on it. Enjoy eating like then NEVER did before and they have put on weight, coats look shiny and they are very healthy looking. I also happen to believe it is the best thing for them. Good luck with what ever you decide! ![]() | |

| ![]() Well we ended up doing the mitaban dip (much to my concern) and one week away from Yodi's last dip he had a very bad reaction (threw up 6 times between 8am and 3pm) and had to have the reversal shot. He was fine, the vet said don't worry about the last dip, and we are now demodex free!!! The only good thing that remotely came from this whole experience is I found out it is SO much cheaper to give all six of my dogs ivermectin daily than to spend over $300 every six months on heartworm meds from the vet. So I am thankful to have found that little fact out! It's once more step at dinner that I am willing to take to save me a load of cash that can now be put toward their savings for any unexpected moment that may happen for them. As we all know fully well, those moments DO happen! Anyways, I just wanted to share the news! We're still watching Yodi's skin and keeping a close eye on it JUST IN CASE. I'm a paranoid mother now, but hopefully we'll be in the clear for good forever! ![]()

| ![]() Im glad Yodi is mite free. Chachi had mites a couple of yrs ago and had to have those dips also. He also at the end got sick from them and had diarrhea. He was supposed to have 6 dips but the vet let us stop at 5. As bad as it was I am glad he went through it because it got rid of them. I have read posts on here where peoples dogs had them and the vet didnt do the dips and they were not getting rid of them

| ![]() I am glad your baby is doing better. I am very pleased to report that Dakota is now demodex free!! Our vet called a specialist last time she got it and she said to do an oral treatment (ivomec). It has worked!! Of course she is eatting healthier now to, we switched to blue buffalo, this seems to have helped alot. The vet told us that it was an immune system problem, that kota was not able to fight off getting an infection from the mites. Good luck, we love you all!! Tamara & Dakota |

| ![]() I have no experience with the Demodex, never even seen it, but i read about it... sorry for that. As far as home treatment on my state there is help, if it is a prescription and the vet teaches you to use, you are ENTITLED to ask for a prescription to use it at home so it will be less expensive on you.... It may be very poisonous and that would be the reason why your vet did not suggest you do it? Research and see if you can ask for the prescription. I hope you can do it at home. The ear i can help. have you used a ear cleaner solution after each bath? Even in between baths you can use a ear cleaner solution. I get mine on PETEDGE.com, their own kind a 16 ounces bottle for 6.00 dollars the most !!! I use it regularly and keeps their ears clean and dry , free of infections. I think you can get any ear cleaning solution and will help you. Good luck.
