hey Jodi, can you tell me where you get this? Macey always is scratching her ears, yet they are clean and I don't know why? I'd like to try a cleaning like this.

I haven't used either of those products, but I do regularly use an ear cleaner called Dr. Gold's Extra Gentle Ear Therapy on both girls every time they get a bath (which is at least once every other week), You basically squirt it in the ear canal, massage the ear a bit and just wash them as normal. It "cleans, disinfects and deodorizes" and "treats infections and fungus".

When I first got Sissy, my vet recommended using an ear cleaner regularly because Yorkies are susceptible to ear issues.

Sending hugs and well wishes!!!!

Aww poor Tatum! I hope she's starting to feel better. I just that melon ear cleaner for Meeko. It smells great, doesn't it? I like it and he doesn't mind too much. My vet said to use it rite after their bath.

I have tried almost all ear product over the counter and Rx and my Pd gets an ear infection every 2 months even when on meds the vet has no clue why and I am about to give up as well, hang in there I know how frustrating it can be.

Generic versions of the Betadine are known as Povidone-Iodine, and those are fine, too. Just be sure not to use "Betadine Scrub", which is Betadine with a detergent added. What you want is "Betadine Solution" or generic "Povidone-Iodine Solution".

Poor Tate and you - hope you get it cleared up once and for all, Brooke.

Thank you so much for this girl! I greatly appreciate it!! I am going to try it soon as it sounds wonderful! Big hugs to you!

Thank you so much sweetie I hope she is better soon too....my poor baby girl It seems as though she is always going through so much I just hate it! And I know what you mean....I am going to have to give this stuff to Tatum for a long time too The ear wash ALONE I have to give every single day for 1 week, and then twice per week after that, I guess forever Need to ask the vet about that. She is just on sooo many different things

She has to take her allergy pill twice a day, plus her Clavamox twice a day, the ear wash once per day for 1 week then twice per week after that, and the ear "gel" stuff once per day and then twice per week after the ear wash...I have to do this until the whole tube is finished, and there is alot in there Not to mention she has to have her Glucosamine chews every other day for her LP...oh my My poor baby girl It is 'round the clock with her

Thank you so much She has been on the Clavamox many, many times before and so far, it always seems to help with whatever she is dealing with, so hopefully we will have the same results this time

Thank you so much Lenora I hope all of these meds help Tatum....I just feel so SORRY for her. She is always going through so much and dealing with so much....she just gets so worn out It breaks my heart. I did make sure that there is no hair covering the earhole at all - in fact, I trimmed around her ears just the other day for this very reason

Regarding the distemper (and other vaccines as well) - please talk to your vet. There has been lots of movement on vaccination protocol. Once your baby completes two rounds of puppy shots and then gets the booster at about 1 1/2 years old, there is NO NEED TO VACCINATE AGAIN for distemper. Rabies is a 3 year vaccination. Bordatella is recommended if your pups are taken to a groomer or are boarded. Other than that, no other vaccinations are necessary - period!!!!!!

This was Angel's distemper booster, which is why I went ahead with it. She will get her 3 year Rabies in another 3 weeks. When asked about vaccinating Sissy, I told her I wasn't doing anything other than rabies and she had her booster last year. I discussed the "new" protocol that I had printed out from Dr. Susan Dodd and the discussions on the holistic sites I frequent. She was very supportive and said she agrees 100% that we are overvaccinating. She also told me the vet practice we go to does not allow the vets to discuss alternatives unless brought up and approached by the owner!!! She made a notation in our chart to send us 5 year reminders on distemper, which we will then refuse. The only vacinnation I may consider would be bordatella and only if we will be boarding (which I don't anticipate)!!!!!!!!!

Sissy doesn't appear to be in any pain. I just noticed the rash when I was grooming her Saturday. It was much worse today even. She was given just a topical ointment (that is okay if she licks) and if it doesn't clear it up, then we'll go back - same if I notice any blood in her urine.
Thank you so much Jodie!! I will DEFINITELY be talking to my vet about this. There are two vets up at the office that we go to, but I am thinking that I will talk to Dr. Mark as he is younger and actually just graduated not long ago from Texas A&M so I have a feeling that he will be more "up to date" with everything whereas the other vet has been practicing for YEARS as is probably so set in his ways with vaccinating every year The Bordatella I know she won't need as she is never ever boarded and I do groom her myself. I know she DOES need her Rabies though, for sure.

I sure do hope that Sissy is better soon! Our poor babies I will be saying a prayer for her that this medication helps and that her rash is cleared up in no time! Give her a big hug for me and thank you so much again for all of your help!

Poor little girl. Sorry to see Tatum ears are bothering her once again Brooke.
Hopefully the new round of meds will do it for her this time. It must be
so annoying to watch her scratch know your doing everything possible
to prevent it. Finger's crossed she get's relief this time.

Thank you so much girl! I am glad to ear that the drops you got from the vet cleared up the ear infection quickly...I am praying for the same results! It seems that since the very first day of using all these meds, her ears are already looking better - and, I don't think I've seen her scratch them once...so that is a HUGE plus! And LOL....I'm sure my vet thinks that I have the same disease! I guess poor little Tatum just doesn't have any luck She's always got something My poor little girl! Mr. Stedman never gets ANYTHING (knock on wood!!!!) and neither do any of my other babies. It's always poor little Tatum

Hey Brenda - Jodie said that she gets it from a local pet store where she lives. The store she gets if from is called PetsMart (NOT PETSMART....but Pets-Mart) LOL Unfortunately, we don't have one of those here...but Jodie did offer to pick some up for us whenever we need it, so I'm sure she would gladly do the same for you if you PM'd her and asked her

And also, I'm sure it is available online somewhere too
