| HUGE lump on back :( pebbles got her last shots about 2 weeks ago and yesterday i noticed that she has a HUGE lump where i think they gave it to her... its about the size of a quarter and there is also a small pea sized one next to it.. which might be from the previous injection...it doesnt hurt her at all when i touch it or move it, so it is not a bruise and anyway, for her to get that kinda bruise she would have had to been in some serious accident which she hasnt been. i was going to take her in to the vet today but when i checked it today it seems it is smaller a bit even though the whole area around it is swollen. i am going to see if it gets smaller tomorrow. I am kinda freaking out inside that it is not from the injection at all and is some kinda CANCER or god knows what! has anyone else noticed a swelling after their babies got their shots? |

| I haven't had an experience with this but a friend of mine has a chihuahua that got an allergic reaction to a vaccine and her leg has about a 50 cent size indentation, like it ate the muscle away! Another friend has a dent in the back of her dogs neck from a vaccine! I would just call the vet and tell him or her over the phone what you see, just to put your mind at ease! Good Luck and hope its nothing.

YT Addict | odie had something like this around his neck. it was a lump but he didnt seem to mind it any. i know it was from the shots though because he didnt have it when i first got him as a puppy but then one day after a vets visit of some shots, i noticed it. i didnt call because, well i dont really remember why i didnt call but it has been gone now for quite some time. so maybe your babes will go away too?! |

| Just came on looking for the answer to this exact same question. My Ceasar had his shots about 2 weeks ago as well, and I just noticed the lump today. Totally freaked out. Feel a little better now. Will watch it and hope it starts to get smaller too. Hope it isn't anything worse. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | That happened to Pixie about 2 months ago. My husband felt this huge lump and we took her in and it was from the rabies shot. They said there was so charge since it happens so much.

Luv my 7 Furkids Donating Member | one of mine did that. Funny too it doesnt appear right away then when you notice it, its about a week to week and a half to disappear. Maybe some just bruise more than others. (the one that did it, wasnt one of the smaller ones either, shes 7 lb) |

| About a week after my puppy went in to get fixed i noticed she had a bump on her neck. i was very worried about it and she wasnt bothered about it at all. I thought it might have been the microchip we had put in but it seemed to big to be that. My dad thought that it might have been where the iv was or where a shot went in. It seemed kinda like a scab. But about 2 weeks later it was gone and she wasnt bothered by it. I've been watching the spot closely and it hasn't came back. |

| Rusty had a quarter size knot where his rabies shot was and the vet said it was normal. Then his hair fell out on the knot for about a year...all better now, hair grew back, knot went away..don't worry. Some get the knot, others don't.

| Hello !! When My Little Nika Got Her First Shots At 6 Weeks Old, She Had A Bubble Like Lump Under Her Skin At Injection Site, So I Took Her Back To The Doc... It Was Caused By Fluid That Was Trapped Between The Skin And Muscle. It Went Away Slowly As The Fluid Was Absorbed, Probably 10 Days !! Nothing Major. She Was A Little Sore There For A While Too. |

| Fluid between the skin and muscle..........a perfect description! Yes my boy was a little sore there too at his rabies shot of one year old. He didn't have any trouble at the 4 month old shot... it was the 2nd rabies shot. Maybe it's the way the vet gave the shot?

| I just wanted to update and say the lump has gotten a lot smaller! It is still there but it seems to get smaller every day... so I am relieved. after reading all the replies, I think it is definetly from the rabies shot she got 2 weeks ago. I wonder if it got swollen because they injected it the wrong way? |

| I found this website when I did a search about a lump on my little girl's back and reading it made me feel much more at ease!!! Jessi is 3 mths old and just had her shots a couple weeks ago and just felt this bump like place on her right back. Going to see Vet in afternoon but was very worried, now it may just be where she got her last shots. You ladies rock. Hope to be around to learn more from you guys!! |
