| Sick Yorkie - Lymphangiectasia I have a 4 year old Yorkie (Wycket) who has been diagnosed with Lymphangiectasia. Has anyone had a Yorkie with the same illness and what was the result? He has been through all the specialty tests (x-ray, sonogram, endoscopy, etc. etc.) and I have no doubts about my vet's knowledge nor about the diagnosis. I am more interested in knowing if anyone has a dog living with this condition. Any information would be helpful. Thank you. |

| Thanks the link is helpful as it is written in more understandable terms than the medical page my vet gave me. I would indeed like to talk more but am on the run at work today - real estate agent. Is your Yorkie still with you? |

| Welcome to YT. I am so sorry that your baby Wycket has this illness but from what I read, it can be managed. I will be praying for Wycket and watching for updates. God bless you.

| Good morning ycroft...I'm glad the link was helpful...I know how hard all of this is to understand. Boog is no longer with us...he was laid to rest September 16th '04...he was almost 13 years old. We did manage the lymphangiectasia for a few years but at the end it was his heart that was the problem. I'll be here this evening if you'd like to talk. | There is hope ... ycroft- Although I don't know a lot about this condition, my dad's yorkie was diagnosed with this several years ago. He was very sick at the time he was diagnosed, but is now doing wonderfully - it is almost like he is a puppy again (he is 8 years old). His condition is managed with a strict diet and I know that he took presnisone for several months. So know that there is hope. I will pray for you and your Wycet; I also have a sick baby, but we can't seem to figure out what is wrong with him. And don't forget to take care of yourself during this process! Please keep us updated. Jessica & Bogart |
