Sick Yorkie - Lymphangiectasia I have a 4 year old Yorkie (Wycket) who has been diagnosed with Lymphangiectasia. Has anyone had a Yorkie with the same illness and what was the result? He has been through all the specialty tests (x-ray, sonogram, endoscopy, etc. etc.) and I have no doubts about my vet's knowledge nor about the diagnosis. I am more interested in knowing if anyone has a dog living with this condition. Any information would be helpful. Thank you. |
Sorry I am not familiar with that condition. I looked on my dog medical book and couldn't find it.Hopefully someone who is familiar with it will post soon |
We went through this with our first Yorkie...pm me if you want to talk. Here's a link that might help: http://www.marvistavet.com/html/inte...giectasia.html |
Just want to say welcome and I hope you can get help with the answers you are looking for. I'm sorry your baby is sick:( |
Thank you so much for your kind message. |
Thanks the link is helpful as it is written in more understandable terms than the medical page my vet gave me. I would indeed like to talk more but am on the run at work today - real estate agent. Is your Yorkie still with you? |
Thanks for looking |
Welcome to YT. I am so sorry that your baby Wycket has this illness but from what I read, it can be managed. I will be praying for Wycket and watching for updates. God bless you. |

There is hope ... ycroft- Although I don't know a lot about this condition, my dad's yorkie was diagnosed with this several years ago. He was very sick at the time he was diagnosed, but is now doing wonderfully - it is almost like he is a puppy again (he is 8 years old). His condition is managed with a strict diet and I know that he took presnisone for several months. So know that there is hope. I will pray for you and your Wycet; I also have a sick baby, but we can't seem to figure out what is wrong with him. And don't forget to take care of yourself during this process! Please keep us updated. Jessica & Bogart |
Thank you so much. I'll keep everyone posted. So sorry about your sick baby. |
