| little one not well Although not new to YT, I've observed and read but never posted. My little Poppy is 2 yr old, 6lb male, standard yorkie. Always spry, he's not well and I'm on verge of dire worry. It's as if he's stretching and twisting his body; I am afraid it's his stomach; maybe constipated or gas. He's urinating as normal; he's gone out more than once for #2 but seems not to be able to go. Not interested at all in food which is not normal; I've tried to give him a bit of water for hydration but not really interested. I will be at Vet. at 7 am, but in the meantime, does this ring familiar with any others out there? He's resting comfy now on my lap; just no pep in him. Thank you for any replies or helpful input. | Could he have a blockage? He could have eaten something while you weren't looking (we can't watch them all of the time). I'm no expert, but JMO based on what you're reporting. I'm probably too much of a worrier, but if you have an emergency vet, you might want to go ahead and take him. Good luck. Hope I'm wrong and it's nothing serious. Welcome! Glad you decided to post! |

| Welcome. I'm so glad you decided to jump in. I am sure someone with more knowledge that me will have some advice. Maybe you could call an emergency vet and see what they would recommend. Good luck

| Thank you both for input. I really think it's something he ate due to his actions and sounds from stomach, but very concerned about blockage bc of his awkward stretching and moving and intimating that he has to go #2. I will update as he progresses. Thanks. |

| Your best bet is to go to the vet, but in the mean time, maybe try putting his butt in some warm water for a few minutes. This sometimes relieves constipation. I hope it is nothing more serious. Sheilagh

I wouldn't wait. If it is a blockage it needs to be taken care of ASAP. These litltle ones get into things we don't even know we have. They are so fast. Good luck. Prayer's coming that all will be fine. Please update us. | |

| Thank you for all the kind, helpful advice and well wishes. Little Poppy seems to be a little perkier. He's been low profile much of day; ate couple of bites of chicken snack and had some water. He has gone outside; I probably constipate him now following him like a nut. Monday morning we are going to Vet. Thanks for all nice words and prayers. |
