| Murphy is off balance??? Hello, we are first time yorkie parents, and our little murphy man who is 10 weeks old today is off.. We had a long sunday today, which consisted of 3 diffrent parks! But after a little playing at home and a nap he woke up and seemed drunk! He was off balance and doesn't wanna move really. When sitting he seems to just look dizzy, no vomiting, or sickness. But yet we are concerned. Any help??? |

| Welcome to YT. He could be showing signs of hypoglycemia. Rub a bit of karo syrup, pancake syrup, honey, or nutrical on his gums. Has he eaten today? Is he dehydrated?

| If he has been really playing and not eating much...I'd give him some Nutrical if you have it...if not, give him some Karo syrup. He may have low blood sugar and may need to be seen by a vet ASAP...it can be very serious. When I brought Myah home, after a day, she had the same stuff going on...so I gave her some Nurtical and squirted some water in her mouth and called the vet. I had read up on hypoglycemia and knew what to watch for. The vet said that is was a good thing I knew what I was doing or she could have been in a lot of trouble. I don't want to scare you...but better to be safe than sorry. They can go down hill very fast at this age. |

| Another thing that concerns me is that he is only 10 weeks old which means he's probably only had 1 vaccination. Puppies at this age are not protected against diseases. It's really dangerous to take a young puppy to parks and other areas where dogs have been. I'd be really concerned about him picking up Parvo, parasites, or other diseases. If he starts vomitting or having diarrhea, get him to a vet ASAP. If it's hypoglycemia, he needs some to get his blood sugar back up. The syrup will give him an instant spike but then its important he eat as well. If he starts to get worse or the syrup & food aren't helping - he needs to go to the vet.

| Any pet store will have NUTRICAL and I validate everything the other posters have said... Have you tried the hunny or kayro syrup yet? How is your baby doing now? If you see no signs of improvement after the directions given GET TO VET ASAP ! Best of luck and sorry you are having such a hard time with your new bundle of joy! Welcome to YT! Vicki

| Please take MyFairLacy's advice and give karo syrup or nutrical. If that doesn't pull the pup out of the episode almost instantly, it is very important to check for liver shunt.

| I hope it was just a touch of hypoglycemia from the busy day and he's all better now.
