| ![]() I know I'm posting this in wrong section but no one is on but in this section. We came home from being away for a couple hours and all my dogs are always excited. We turned around and our Lea was laying on the floor having a seizure? She was limp..foaming her tongue was hanging out...it was so bad.She didnt jerk. We called the vet right away That was at 7 she was coming out of it and the vet said that she should be fine. But call to get her in first thing tomorrow. Its 11:45 and she still wont move her legs or head she is just laying there. She is 18 months old..never had seizures.None of my dogs ever have Is it normal for them to not want to move..and feel kind of stiff for this long? I am scared to death.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | ![]() I've no experience with seizures and animals, but I think you might want to call an ER vet if at all possible. Waiting until in the morning just doesn't sound like a good idea, unless you start to see some improvement real soon. Any chance she could have been poisoned by even a plant or something?

| ![]() Call a vet! I'm sorry but this doesn't sound like a situation where you should be relying on online help. If your normal vet doesn't think it's serious I would seriously consider finding another vet.

| ![]() you need a vet ASAP!! Do you have an emergency vet close? Call yours back, but I think you need to see a vet fast! I am not an expert, but IMO- I'd go to an ER vet Hospital!

| ![]() How terrifying for you. Hon, just call the vet and describe exactly what is going on. They will then be able to tell you what is going on. I know when humans have seizures, they go into a time of being very tired, but they are not 'stiff'. I hope this is just normal postictal (after seizure) activity for dogs. Please update us soon!

| ![]() The closest vet is over 50 miles.we are way out in the country. And got a foot of snow. She did just lift her head and inch or so. I know online isnt the way to go...if only the roads were not so bad I would go I looked online and it says they may act ok after 10-15 minutes or may be dazed for 24 hours..but not moving her legs and feels stiff. thank u all for being there for me

| ![]() I would be very careful moving her- it could be an injury, neck, back, head- I would put a board or something under her to move her! I am so sorry for you all, and pray everything will be ok!

| ![]() The emergency vet says bring her in. But we cant...the roads are so bad. husband is petting her and loving her while I posted. If she makes it thru the night she will be at our vet first thing in the morning. Thats 20 miles ut I will get her there as soon as they open..not waiting to call ![]() When I was talking to the vet she was coming out of it. And they said they'd check her good in the am, and put on med. I dont know...all I know is I am sick over this I now wonder if it was a stroke.or neck injury. But home is puppy proofed ![]()

| ![]() Thank you everyone who answered. I knew I was grasping for straws ![]() Hoping maybe someone had a Yorkie who had a seizure and took a long time to feel better. I just know theres something more wrong. A stroke or something. And I know nothing can really be done if thats what happened. I had that happen 10 years ago to another dog I had. I pray its not that... I hope that shes just afraid..and still in a fog and dont want to move her legs Going to be a long night Thanks everyone.
