I am just seeing this thread now.. my goodness this is aweful for you and for Lucy;;; I pray she is going to be ok.. I know you are worried sick.. I can see this in your posts..

Lucy is has an appointment tomorrow morning at 9AM to see neurologist Isabel Ducharme at Michigan Veterinary Specialists in Soutfield. I would like to find an inexpensive pet friendly motel near there. I'll probably have to take everybody, since I have no one to leave them with.

My groomer usually watches them, but she's been spending the weekdays in Detroit lately, where her husband is receiving Chemo.

Very good news. Sure wish someone was in your area to help out with your other babies... I just had one and he was the patient and that was trying enough.. I can only imagine what you are going through!....

I don't know Michigan at all but Motel 6 is cheap & allows pets.

Thank you all so much for the prayerrs and candles.

Guess I'm waiting to leave until early morning and hope the storm isn't as bad as expected. I can't find a hotel that will accept more than one pet and my vet won't board the other dogs as they didn't get their bordatella as they were supposed to. They told me they were getting bordatella, but it's not in their records so they can't stay there. Nobody else will keep them without having their bordatella either, so there's no point in even checking with any place else. What a bunch of poop!

Have you posted in the Regional forum in Michigan to see if maybe a member lives nearby & could help you with pet sitting at least while you're at the appt?

I'm in Iowa, but in the central part of the state & I'm sure you're probably suppose to get the same system - it has been slow getting here- it was suppose to start at 6 am, but it just started raining here about 2:15pm central time - then the snow & wind are suppose to come still later tonight. I know the meterologist are having a hard time even predicting time & snow totals.

Praying for safe travel too!

Hi everyone and thanks for all the prayers and candles. I took Lucy in to see Dr Ducharme this morning and they scheduled her for xrays and CT scans. She was almost positive it was AAS. It killed me to leave her there.

Now I'm sitting in the hotel in Southfield. I just got a call from the doctor and it is definitely AAS. Lucy is scheduled for immediate emergency surgery as ther is a piece of bone pressing on her spinal cord. I was told to be prepared for the worst. All I can do is pray and cry. I cry a lot. She didn't want me to leave and that may the last time I see her alive.

The surgery should take about 2 hours and she may not make it through. If she makes it through the surgery it will still be touch and go for 24 hours to make sure she can breat on her own and keep breathing. I will let you know as soon as they let me know.

I would appreciate all your prayers for my little Lucy.

oh, I'm sitting here at work crying for you and dear Lucy. I will pray for excellent care through the surgery and afterwards. May she recover as well or better than Bleu. Praying for you to have peace and to be surround by those who care and understand. Hugs to you hon.

Im crying ! Im so sorry .. God can do anything... He is no respector of persons what he will do for one he will do for all.. I have faith 100% faith Lucy is going top pull through.. I have cold chills all over... This hits so close to home with me... I feel your hurt.. I want to talk to you and reassure you of some things... I have researched every possibility and I have words I feel will comfort and encourage you.....
