Ohhh...big hugs to Mommy... I'm so glad Lily made it thru the surgery...I can't say this enough...my prayer is for her to feel you love wrapped around her... my heart is breaking for her..and tears flowing down my face for mommy

Lily made it out of surgery ok, they said she did well. I waited around all day, they called at 7:00pm and asked if they could put her in ICU. I am upset I was not informed she was having problems earlier. They said they wanted to put her in ICU because her glucose is not stable she will not eat or drink, they say she will be fine though. I just want to take her home, I know she can not be comfortable there, she will not eat if she is uncomfortable. I am ready for this all to be over. The vet said when she comes home she will have soft bandages on and be taking medicam. They will not tell me until tomorrow when I am allowed to bring her home.

I am so glad she made it through. In the ICU she will be monitored more closely. That is a comforting thing. They will have her doped up on IV pain meds tonight so she really won't comprehend much, and she probably won't remember much either. She will wake up tomorrow morning and wonder what the heck happened! Have a good night. Will look forward to seeing the update tomorrow.

Lily is home we have been home about an hour and she has gone to the potty ate dinner and taken her medicine. I knew all she needed was to come home. So far she is doing well, she gets frustrated because she cannot move around easily but all and all she seems to be ok now, I am worried they only gave me 3 days worth of pain meds and I only give them to her once a day I guess we will see how tomorrow goes. I am so worried something is going to go wrong like her bandage being too tight, she seems so uncomfortable. When we got home and I put her down and she realized she could not walk very well she picked her back legs up and tried to walk on her front feet, is this normal. I will try and post pics. tomorrow.

Oh, she must be in pain. You should be able to obtain additional pain meds from your local vet without any difficulty. They (surgeons) can fax the prescription for a refill. You don't want her to be in pain while she is healing. It doesn't sound like enough pain meds though, and Gracie's Mom can be very helpful.

I'm new here, but I just wanted you to know I hope your doggy is okay. My Shena had a broken leg when she was only ten weeks old.... It was so sad seeing her trying to get around on the cast. But she didnt have surgery, they just reset it and had her on pain meds also. Prayers out to you!!!
