| Valentine's Day Riley's neutering got moved to Feb. 13th. I'm going to pick him up from the vet on Weds around 4pm. The next day is Valentine's Day and my boyfriend and I were going to go out. Is it going to be ok to leave Riley alone for a few hours? |

| I would'nt. You never know how your dog is going to come out of the procedure. Chances are they will just sleep, but do you really want to take that chance? Better to play it safe. You and your boyfriend have many other nights to go out. |

| I'm not a lot of help. I wouldn't let Ellie stay by herself 'til her staples came out and actually it wasn't til a few days after that...

| I would think that by the day after he is neutered it would be fine to leave him for a few hours. Your know your dog better than any of us. If he is normally calm natured and not one of those that totally freaks out when left alone then I would say it is o.k. You might also want to ask the vet. Good luck and I hope you have a Happy Valentine's Day. |

| We had Mojo neutered the week of Thanksgiving.....we dropped him off at 9am (the lastest they would let us) and we picked him up at 1pm that day (just because the vet knows how I am)....when we picked him up...he was so alert and hyper...when we got him, he was groggy from the meds. The next day, it was as if NOTHING had happened to him. The day after that, was Thanksgiving and he went with us to my parents and you would have never guessed it had this done. COURSE, all dogs recover differently too. I kept a baby onesie on him to make sure he didn't lick the surgery spot. Me...I probably wouldn't leave him alone, but that is just me and I am a freak sometimes about his comfort, etc.... Call your vet....and see what they say...or see if the appt can get changed...if you are uncertain!

| Well I think the boyfriend is going to have to deal with just renting movies and getting food to go. Besides its cold as heck here!! I think staying home will be a good idea. |
