| Update On Franklin Well.. we went to pick him up from the emergency clinic early this morning. He is doing better and is no longer vomitting. I don't think he ever had diarrhea. Unfortunately, he's going to need to stay hospitalized. It was so adorable, when we showed up.. he immediately started wagging his tail and jumping up and down. Poor baby. We took him to another local vet (our normal vet is located about 45 minutes away and I didn't want to transport him a long distance) to continue his treatment. He will continue to be hooked up to IVs and hopefully we be able to come home soon! The estimate is 4 days, however because he has not thrown up or had any diarrhea, they will probably try to feed him later today. I'm hoping he gets to come home soon but I want him to stay as long as he needs to and get better. I wanted to ask you all... for those of you who have had to deal with costly medical expenses, did you do any fund raisers or anything? The estimate of his vet bills will total about $1600. My boyfriend and I are both college students and I don't have a job, so basically.. we're pretty much out of luck. Right now it's all on a credit card but I'm hoping to start some kind of bake sale (is that lame? ) or SOMETHING to help alleviate things a little bit. Give me your suggestions because I definitely need them. Once again, thank you all for your kind words and prayers. I can't imagine what this whole experience would be like without all of your support. It means more than you know. Here are some pictures we took early this morning (the last couple are from earlier this week):

| I am so glad your baby is doing better. How about a garage sale? If you have a place to hold a garage sale or apartment sale you can sell some unused items you might have laying around. You might want to ask friends or family if they have any unwanted items they might want to donate. Also if you have some nice items you might want to sell them on ebay. |

| Hey swwet girl~ I am definitely a softy and truly would help you out in a minute as I know so well what you are going through.. With Bleus surgery it was 8 grand. I dont have it because if I did I would help you if I could ....Check into payment plans with your vet also you may can take that credit card and put it on another card and get 0 financing for a year.. If it is amex dont sweat it they will work with you if the amount is high and a medical emergency (including pets) Check into pet insurance... We are going to however I dont know anything about it or if they have a clause of preexisting conditions but it is worth looking into I am just trying to brainstorm for ya cause I know you probally are really sweating it right now... When all else fails pray.... I will be praying and I know many more are... Please keep us updated and know that from the only parvo case I saw it was successful.... So I think franklin will be home in no time flat Woops another idea... Check with your vet and ask him if there is anything you can do to offset the costs... Work the office a week , answer phones detail automobile clean house.. do ironing ... The only reason I know all this is because I HAVE BEEN THERE DONE THAT!!! Blessings Bleus Mom

| I have a good friend whose grown daughter makes a tidy little side income by going to estate sales or garage sales, picks up text books and sells them on ebay. You'll get more on ebay for your garage sale items, if they are unique items, like collectables, then you'll get at a garage sale. |

| Thank you all for your suggestions! They're great ones and I'll definitely check in to them. I'm already looking into selling some old/unused stuff on ebay, including old textbooks. I wish he was older so I could sell some of his old clothes but we don't have any "old" clothes! I'll also check into helping out at the vet somehow. On another note, I called earlier to check up on him. Apparently they've got him settled into his isolation ward and back on the IVs. He's doing better and they're going to try and feed him later tonight. If he can hold it down (fingers crossed!), he'll be able to come home soon. I'm praying that he gets to come home early... for one, it'll offset the vet bills by a LOT and more importantly, he'll get to come home! I miss him terribly.

| Franklin we're so happy your starting to feel better. Buddy and I wish you a very speedy recovery. Buddy was hositalized for four days also with the same sympthoms as Franklin although there was blood in his stools. Diagnosis was possible Nylabone fragments cutting the interior of his intestines. Hope you little guy is home with you soon. Hugs, |

| I'm starting to get a little bit worried. I just spoke with the vet who is currently treating him. She gave me an update on Franklin. He apparently threw up again. They tried feeding him and he wasn't interested (I'm not sure if he didn't eat at all or if he ate and threw it up). They also gave him some sugar water to prevent hypoglycemia? Did not know that would be a problem at this point... I thought the IVs were enough. That's just one more thing to worry about. My biggest concern is that the vet's office is closing at 7 and they will not be able again until 7am. That's 12 HOURS. The vet said that he was fairly stable but didn't really seem too reassuring. I don't think there is any reason for alarm, she just didn't have the people skills I felt were needed to make myself feel better. She told me I could transfer him back to the emergency care clinic if I felt he should be monitored all night long (which I absolutely DO) but at this point, I just simply cannot afford any more vet bills. I think the stress of transferring him twice in one day is probably too much for the little guy anyway. They also said that there are more than enough fluids to keep him sustained during the night. He will most likely just sleep. I just keep imagining him crashing or something in the middle of the night and nobody being there to help him. But this IS his third day of survival so I'm praying he'll continue to stay strong.
