| Dandruff after grooming? I took my puppy in for his first grooming. Everything was great, but I am now noticing all these little flakes on his fur! It looks like white sand on his fur! Could this be from the groomer? What can I do!?!?! Its all over and he was not like that prior to! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | When I first got Pixie, she was 13 months old and I took her to the vet and I looked down when the vet was starting to check he out and it looked like she was in a snowstorm there were so many white flakes on her. The vet saw my expression and said are you wondering what that is and I said yes it wasn't there before, she said it is nervous dander. To this day when I bathe Pixie while I blow dry her she is throwing all this white dander and I have to comb it all out when she is dry. Sounds like that could be what happened. It never happened with any of my other dogs

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Could be that the shampoo they used was too harsh. I had a pup that had dander/dry skin flakes. I got some Oatmeal shampoo from the vet. Used it twice and no more dander. First, though, I'd try switching groomers and see if that helps.

| I was told growing up not to use anyones comb or brush because the dander can be passed from one person to another. I don't know. If it can, then maybe the groomer doesn't dip the comb and brush in alcohol before going on to another dog? Guessing here. |
