| Holly has LP! My 15 week old Holly has LP in both back legs. The vet is hoping that it will resolve as she grows, and says not to worry as long as it does not bother her. She knows what I am going through with Gracie. How could I be so lucky as to get two Yorkies with LP, from different breeders?

| Mine both have LP's, but Loki's are not nearly as bad. Sadly I think most Yorkies have at least low grade LP's unless they come from very strict breeders. Don't assume the worst yet.

since Holly is so young i would talk to your breeder about this. Unless holly took a huge dive off the couch or something like that she was most likely born this way. Its most likely not going to fix itself as she grows. does she walk ok? are her knees turning in or out? is her back hunched when she walks?

| I have a male yorkie, Buddy, that sometimes doesn't walk on one of his back legs. The vet told me that hopefully it will get better as he gets a little older and develops musculature to support the knee. He has never been able to jump up onto our couch. Our other two yorkies were able to right away when we first brought them home! I also noticed that it is worse in the colder weather.

| LP is Luxating Patella. Holly has no symptoms at all. We had a health guarantee, but I only had 3 days to get the clear from the vet. At that visit, she thought Holly's patellas were loose, but attributed it to being so young. Now it is only two weeks later and she says that Holly definitely has LPs. I have not yet told my breeder. I would not trade my Holly for anything. I'm way too attached at this point. I just hope she does not need surgery like her big sister does!
