| ![]() I had someone call Kansas State last night over a flea medication reaction (the dog is fine now...). She called and there was just some automated thing that kept talking. She called back later and they didn't get back to her til this morning (a little late for an emergency). She was willing to stay on hold for awhile, so I don't know how long she waited. I'm sure it's a good service when they answer but please don't count on it.

| ![]() Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I'm sure there are great emergency places all over ... we use Northwood Animal Hospital in Tallahassee, FL. We use them for regular vetinary services also since all records are in-house and they're 24/7/365 If you can find a reliable, knowledgeable 24 hour clinic --- get a magnet and put their # on it on the fridge. |

| ![]() This person uses the same vet as I do. They are a 24 hour clinic but when you call in the middle of the night you have to talk to a tech. The techs always say to bring the dog in. That's fine but not necessary. I figured if she called somewhere out of state they couldn't say that they wanted to see the dog. ![]()

| ![]() That's really odd that she couldn't get through to KSU VMTH. I used to work at the emergency desk there so I'm very familiar with how it all operates to say the least ![]() |

| ![]() The KSU VMTH is a teaching hospital in Manhattan, Kansas. The clinic has over 55 board certified vets on hand at any time to provide consults when speciality services are needed. 4th year vet students work hands on in the hospital while closely supervised by a board certified resident. The clinic is open M-F providing routine care as well as specialty services such as interal medicine, surgery, dermatology, cardiology, radiology, ICU, toxicology, and opthlamology. After hours, weekends, and holdiays, the emergency hotline is available to everyone. The desk is staffed by students 24/7/365 as well as an intern and vet. students are in the hospital at all times. They gladly provide phone consults and there is no charge unless you actually need to come to the hospital. Here is the phone number: 785-532-5690 |
