| Yeah!!! I'm so happy for you and Sophie!! Such wonderful news! FYI Pet Insurance won't cover liver shunt surgery because it's a genetic condition. Thank goodness that Sophie is healthy!!

| That is great news...Yay Sophie!!! She is soooo cute, I am so glad that the tests are negative. The thoughts of a liver shunt is so scary and I think the possibility is always in the back of any yorkie owners mind. |

| Thank you so much for all of the excitement for Sophie's health!! We are just so relieved. Also, it's good to know that insurance wouldn't have covered the surgery anyways. We were feeling foolish for not having insurance for you already...... seems that it wouldn't have made a difference either way. It might have helped to offset the Emergency Vet bill though..... that would have been nice. Last edited by Sophie Bella; 12-29-2007 at 12:23 AM. |

| I'm SO GLAD that Sophie's tests came back negative!!! Maybe she is just a petite little girl! I would suggest putting money away and not spending it on the insurance. I didn't find that it has helped at all and think that just putting some money away in a savings account for her each month is a better way to go!

I agree. I think that's what the majority of us do. The time to do it is now, while she is a puppy. That way you can build up a nice sum of money if she develops any problems as she gets older. Insurance doesn't cover so much, plus I've heard if you do have a sizable claim, they won't renew you, so all the money you've invested is wasted. | |
